"Don't Tell Him you Saw the Photographs"
Saw this on Atrios- http://atrios.blogspot.com/ see murmurs.
"An alert reader points out that if you listen to the hearings starting at 4:43 today (Tivo magic), when Gene Taylor is asking about Rummy and the photos, you can clearly hear Rumsfeld's legal counsel (or someone next to him?) say "He thinks you saw the photographs. " I'm pretty sure the next sentence is "Don't tell him you saw them," though that's less clear coming out of my TV anyway"

*****
We recorded the hearings today so I went back to Gene Taylor's questioning to listen and it sounds like that to me, too. So when Rummy says that he saw the photos only last night, he's apparently LYING or why would he need somebody (his counsel? who was sitting next to him) to feed him an answer?

1. He is lying!
This is from AP - May 4 -

"In somber tones at his first Pentagon (news - web sites) news conference since the reports of abuse surfaced, Rumsfeld said Americans should not believe that the behavior captured in the photographs of grinning U.S. soldiers posing with naked Iraqi prisoners is tolerated.
"The images that we've seen that include U.S. forces are deeply disturbing, both because of the fundamental unacceptability of what they depicted and because the actions by U.S. military personnel in those photos do not in any way represent the values of our country or of the armed forces," Rumsfeld said."
