I Hope Rummy Doesn't Resign or Get Fired
Because let's face it, nothing would really change anyway. "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" will most definitely apply with whomever replaces him. If I thought it would actually HELP things, I'd be for it. But it won't.

But if Rummy resigns, or alternatively if Bush fires him (fat chance!) people will think the problem has been handled and that will be that.

Bush and Rummy thumbing their nose at us all, however, is typical and sadly expected at this point. It just adds to the mounting evidence of incompetence, arrogance and heinous activity in this administration.

I suspect there will be some heated private meetings with the administration over the next few days trying to decide how to handle this. But there is no doubt in my mind whatever conclusion they come to will be politically motivated and about the election rather than what's RIGHT. If Rummy steps down/is fired, it will inflame their base I would imagine. So I expect him to stay on to appease their base, which will only further inflame the left and moderates.

I don't see any way we won't win this election at this point.

1. Rummy being forced to resign equals
the end of any hope whatsoever for Bush to win on November 2nd.

2. To change something, we must thing really big
I call for the impeachment of Messrs. Bush, Cheney and Powell as well.

I also call for the convening of an international tribunal to investigate possible war crimes charges to be brought against Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rumsfeld and their subordinates.

The contravention of the Third Geneva Convention governing the treatment of Prisoners of War and other combat detainees was deliberate. The invasion of Iraq was without justification by any verifiable fact and by its nature a preventive action, not self-defense or a pre-emptive attack in the face of an immanent threat. A preventive war is a pruely aggressive act, not justified by international law.

These are war crimes and crimes against humanity. The guilty must be brought to justice.

4. God, I can only hope.
It's what SHOULD happen. But will it? I was sadly disappointed with several Democrats today at the hearings. Some rocked, hell some Republicans rocked hard (McCain, I'm looking at you) but overall I don't know if they have the cajones to do what really needs to be done.

If the new pictures/video comes out, it's all over methinks. They'll do everything they can to prevent the release of that however.

3. This accounts for the 70% who want him to stay on
They want him there to take down the whole mess of them in November.

5. You know, I've actually been voting for him to resign in the polls
But you may be on to something there.
