For his opening remarks during the hearings yesterday, Congressman Duncan Hunter said
"We're here today for a simple reason. Last year, several members of the United States military disgraced the uniform. By abusing enemy detainees, a handful of miscreants broke our laws, embarrassed our country and created an international incident."

Are you kidding me? A "handful" of miscreants?

Typical Republican minimization of the bad news out of Iraq. Totally ignores Rumsfeld's warnings that the worst is yet to come regarding the pictures, video, and accounts of abuse.

Congress is only concerned about the actions of the miscreants? I thought the hearing was to find out how the Pentagon and the Army chain of command was addressing this tragedy for American reputation abroad and these crimes against humanity.

I say take all the apologists and throw them in a Iraqi prison with Iraqi guards, namely the prisoners who were tortured. See how they like it.
