What Is Truth?

A Message by Billy Graham

<snip>

What do you think about truth? Some people think there is no absolute truth. "Truth" for them is simply what they think. But what is truth for one person might not be truth for anyone else, they think. Everything is relative.

<snip>

We are a violent society. We are a wicked society. We are a society that will be under the judgment of God unless we repent of our sins and turn to Him.

Christ is the Truth. The devil is the lie. We see the conflict between the world of Jesus Christ and the devil's world, and we have to make a choice: In which world will we live? To whom will we give allegiance?

You see, we don't have to be taught to sin; we inherit the disease of sin. The question is, what will we do about it? We find deception and delusion on every hand. Everywhere we look, we find people who are unethical, people who are sinful.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Who did you think of while reading this? I would bet it is not who the author originally intended. I'll point out that I'm not religious for what that's worth.

1. The chimp, of course
And since Graham doesn't believe in evolution, there is no hope * will evolve into something more Christlike.

Actually, this miserable failure gives chimps a bad name. No chimp ever bombed and invaded an entire country which had never attacked him or even his banana trees, for that matter.

2. I think
Billy Graham is a two faced hypocrite.

He is a total Bu$h family supporter that "prays" with them before they all decide to make war.
"F" him.

4. Original sin
Old Billy clings to the concept of Original Sin-you know, Garden of Eden, it's all Eve's fault, so keep women down.

Of course, my thoughts weren't on those 'inherently evil' women the fundies are always ranting about, but on the wolves in sheep's clothing that are squatting in a white house in Washington DC....wonder how long it will take before the sheeple realize who is really among them?

8. You misunderstand original sin
If you think it means "it was all Eve's fault."

I've met Billy Graham and spoken with him. I respect him.

23. With Adam's fall
we sinned all-one of the first lessons learned by Pilgrims in their horn books.

I've heard right wing ministers quoting Genesis 3:16, which they interpret as the reason for male dominance-and it does say in the Bible that Eve was the one who took the fruit from the serpent and gave it to Adam.

Sorry, but I've heard Billy Graham, too-and I don't agree with everything he says.

5. Billy Graham Inc.
He lounges with the bottom-feeders and breaks bread with the death mongers.

----------------------

"Billy Graham is there in both Bush oval offices during each massive release of ordinance doing his best to put a blessed glow on the high tech holy sword. He must believe it’s his destiny and duty to be in every oval office so he can guide the might of the military and the government to fulfill his mission of bringing the message of Christ to every living soul."

6. I have absolutely no problem with Billy Graham
Graham has been in public life for almost half a century. He's met with every President in that time span. Democrats, Republicans, and everything in between. Who was the first religious authority President Clinton called when the Lewinsky scandal broke? Graham. Who did Jimmy Carter call on when the Iran hostage mess exploded, Graham. Even JFK called the guy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

By the way, I agree with what he's saying when he wrote that. He intended to say just what he wrote, we are all rotten but if we try, we can save ourselves.

12. He's a con man. Made himself rich by spewing gibberish.
Remember his little plan to bomb the damns and how he used to hang around with Nixon and talk trash about "the Jews"

7. Graham Quackker has always been a phony
I remember when Billy started in the Jesus business (when he was "puffed up" by that old fart Hearst).

Yes, so nice of Billy to bullshit about the Invisible Cloud Being when his "Crusades" were segregated in the 50s and early 60s...

9. Wasn't Graham in on that
cadre that was to determine if John Kennedy would be an "American" or a Catholic? He's just another bigot in a religious facade (sorry all you Graham fans).

11. Billy Graham should know about evil. Is he still pissed that Nixon didn't
bomb the dams in Cambodia and murder millions of Cambodians like he suggested?

with a wonderful voice and cheekbones. So what if he is the best of a bad lot? It's still a VERY bad lot.

16. It's just too bad his son is more of a wingnut.
he is far more fanatical than his father. At least his father showed more class. His son is very prejudiced against Muslims and Islam.
