Tonight's our unofficial Kerry fundraising party

I've probably mentioned this before. This thing is going to be rather large for us, but we have a good cross-section of folks and they will likely be coming in waves (older folks first, younger folks later).

We've got a big ton of very yummy catered Lebanese food, a case of wine, four sixers of beer, soda pop, burpwater, DVD upstairs showing "Bob Roberts", "Bush in 30 Seconds", "Uncovered: the Truth about the Iraq War", Devo videos, and whatever else our de facto VeeJay from Seattle wants to play (Probably "Office Space" yet again), and a slug of guests coming from all over the PNW and from all walks of life. Two computers in the guest room will be taking electronic donations to http://contribute.johnkerry.com, and for those who don't want to give to that, we have alternate url's for moveon.org, aclu, etc.

Our stated goal was $1000 for the campaign, but we just might pop that. We're starting it off with $100.

I guess I feel better about being part of the movement that puts the "party" back in the Democratic Party.

Gotta go finish getting the house ready now.

I would issue a general invitation, but I prefer to keep it to our circle of friends and acquaintances.

you open your own home up for the cause. Actions like this will lead us to victory in November! By the way, I envy you living in Portland. I'm from there originally, but haven't been back in years. Is it really liberal these days?
