Please help with your suggestions

I'm trying to plan for the future. The election will be here before we know it and it's my belief that this election will be a true seminal decision for the country.

I support kerry. Rather reluctantly because I think he's running a campaign that's just about as inspiring as gore did last time. Of course he's not as far left as I would like but then no one but Kusinich is. But that's all right, I'll support anyone but bush.

Now comes the problem. With the media supporting bush, and we all know that the media has a huge influence on the electorate, I worry that the great unthinking public will be pushed towards bush and we'll see four more of this asshole.

If bush is in for four more years, I fear that the country will not recover in my lifetime. So in the event that kerry is not elected, we will be looking for a new place to live. If I were still young, I wouldn't move, I'd join whatever revolutionary movement came along. But I'm no longer young, and just want some place that my wife and I can live out our lives in relative comfort. I'd love canada, but my wife (a florida native) can't take the cold.

So we are open for suggestions on a place that at least has the infrastructure of health care, and a good american expatriot community.

Were would you recommend?

ON EDIT: Sorry for the sarcasm, but an an American I see no reason to leave because of age. If everyone was of your opinion America would be lost for sure. Just my two cents.

3. Oh, thanks for your suggestions. They will truly help. NOT

How about the end of medicare? And the end of Social Security? Perhaps to you they are things to worry about in the far future. But at age 64 they are things that count heavily in OUR lives.

We know that the goal of the neocons is to end both of these programs and to destroy the public education system in this country. Perhaps living in a country of illiterates that can be led by the nose by the tv media is a goal of yours, but to me it means the end of the United States of America and the beginning of the Fascist States of America. That's not a place that I want to spend what time is left to me.

Please, if you can't help, at least don't make fun of our needs just because they aren't the same as yours.

4. Sorry how that may have sounded...but I was actually being serious...
...Fidel can't last forever (although people have been saying that for most of my lifetime)...I suspect there may be a number of American ex-pats who want to get out fast in the event of Term II... I would also suspect the Cuban government would enjoy the idea of harboring a wave of disgruntled American immegrints...you might be treated quite well, if you claim political asylum. Again, sorry if I sounded overly sarcastic. For once, I wasn't trying to be.
