WASHINGTON - Pentagon officials rejected an Army plan last year to send an experienced military lawyer _ who is also a Republican member of Congress _ to help oversee the unit blamed for prisoner abuse at the Abu Ghraib complex outside Baghdad.

Let me guess... Rumsfeld had no idea that his underlings had refused to have a lawyer act as an advisor in the Abu Ghraib prison.

I hope Bush's poll numbers take a huge hit for him standing so solidly behind that jackass Rumsfeld.
