I haven't changed. I wasn't at all surprised. I doubt many other DUers were either, only thing different here is a lot more traffic and a little more resolve?

Has anybody spoken with somebody who is generally surprised and had their opinion changed?

1. I'm afraid to ask my Bush loving parents
what they think about the torture because I'm afraid they'll say it was A-OK. :(

2. "So has anything changed since the torture scandal broke?" No.
Shrub and Rummy are still stupid assholes.

As are the rest of that administration.

Rummy says he won't resign b/c people are trying to make it a 'political issue' and he thinks the Repukes wouldn't do the same.

Remember Clinton and how pushy those repukes got asking for Bill to resign.

5. I think one of my nearest and dearest is coming around
He supported the war and Bush, but he says there is no excuse for the torture and even suggested that the offenders should be punished by their victims.

7. No change in the US.
I haven't met anybody who's position changed an iota because of this.

Internationally, it has no doubt hurt the US significantly among moderates.

8. I notice more people saying GET OUT NOW
The tide is turning, in that regard.

I'm disappointed that there isn't a HUGE uprising from the left. If there was any conscience in this country, things would have come to a stop, and everyone would have hit the streets.

Or... maybe I woke up in Germany.

9. Yep.
I include myself in that group. I understood the rationale for not abandoning Iraq(although not in harmony with it). No more.

12. You're words brought the tears.
I know I said that first.

But, seeing it come back...... I think so many of us are trying to find adequate words to express the horror, and there just aren't any.

OUT NOW.

10. there was a post last Sat from someone whose wife and SIL had gone
from lukewarm opponents of W to 'ready, able, and willing' to donate major $$ to get rid of W.

Anyone have the link?? It was long and detailed.
