Chalabi says that Iraq sex torture was the same method used by Saddam
I don't have a link , but Chalabi just stated this to Wolf Blitzer on CNN:
"These were the same methods used by Saddam."

This is HUGE!

Please don't delete.

2. Makes no better than Saddam, doesn't it? Makes us worse when you consider
Bush and repukes were oh-so-up-in-arms about the great atrocities Saddam did... and now they're supporting the stuff they were oh-so-against when pushing this bullshit war.

5. He has his own agenda
Edited on Sun May-09-04 11:43 AM by dansolo
Even after the turnover in June, the U.S. would still effectively be in charge, because we would still have a large military presense in Iraq. Chalabi wants to be in charge, and he sees this as an opportunity to have increased public pressure force the U.S. to completely withdraw from Iraq. Chalabi is a lying scumbag, and I trust him as much as I trust Bush.

7. I think he thought that he was saying the right thing
In his mind it justified the actions of the MPs. He just doesn't understand our outrage...and the politics behind it.

14. the first-rate manwhore that he is, he's triangulating
Edited on Sun May-09-04 12:24 PM by Aidoneus
He realizes that the gang he rode in with is going down and going down hard, so he's branching out to try and save his ass. Allegedly to the Iranians (for years now), to Sayyid Sistani and the small layer of elites surrounding him, etc.. Wouldn't be surprised if he dons a black `abaya and begs Sadr for an AK47 before this is all over.

That was my first thought--he's trying to save himself. I think he's done--too much juggling going on.

11. I am ashamed and fearful to be an American today
I fear for the safety of my children.

Bush has united the Islamic world and EVERYONE ELSE against us.

We owe it to the world to hold BUSH and Cheney responsible.

They deserve the same humiliation as those innocent prisoners.

On that point I tend to agree with world opinion.

But it is cruel and unusual so I guess even though I think it is appropriate I am against it.

Life in prison in a shithole is what they deserve.
