Poll question: Richard Nixon for President?
If space aliens descended tomorrow and offered--through the marvels of space alien science--to trade us George W. Bush and his administration for the resurrected corpse of Richard Nixon and his White House, would you vote for taking the trade?

I can't believe I would ever see the day that I would vote for Nixon.

2. No, Dick was as bad as Bush in that he felt the Constitution
didn't apply to him. What I want is for our leaders to start impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney, like it's outlined under the Consitution of the United States because neither of them are able to discharge the duties of their offices. Their past actions have proved how incompetent they are.

11. I disagree. Nixon may have been really flawed, but he was really the SOB
of people like Ford and Bush1 and Kissenger and Haig. He took the fall for people far more bad for this country than he.

20. I'm confused.
Are you saying he was more loyal to these people than his country?

22. No, I'm saying they used and abused him, and that he was ideologically
moderate and stood for alot that was good. Better than Reagan or the Bush's. And what they did was worse than what he did.

12. Morally Nixon was as bad as Bush.
But Nixon was brilliant man who didn't believe that he was appointed by God to govern over the US in the end times. That makes him head and shoulders better then the rabid incompetents currently running the White House.

it's that bad. I hope it doesn't take a second term for him to be impeached or forced out.

4. Maybe I am forgetting just how evil Nixon was
But given the choice of a paranoid authoritarian, and ... a reckless fool who chooses to remain ignorant at all costs... I would have to choose Nixon.

15. We haven't forgotten
This is a case of "the lesser of two evils."

And you know your country's fucked when, in a competition between the current resident of the White House and Richard Nixon, Nixon comes out on top.

Nixon was almost as bad as it can possibly get. Bush is worse.

6.  Lesser of two evils.

At least "tricky dick" had an IQ in triple figures and he could
not only read but write as well.
His speaking ability wasn't too bad, compared with "Dim Son".

8. Tricky Dick killed a lot more people.
In Cambodia alone he killed 600,000 people. Completely innocent people too. He sold out Taiwan to appease Mao of all people. He couped Salvador Allende, a democratically elected leader, to put in place Pinochet. The list goes on and on.

10. Maybe I`m all wet
but I think Nixon at least had somewhat of a concience -Shrub has none. I don`t know how the man can look at himself in the mirror to shave, especially if my strong suspicions about 9/11 mihop are correct. And I believe they are.

16. How do you know he does?
We know he's a fucking idiot. We know he has minimal fine motor skills--

Were I Bush's handler, I wouldn't trust the SOB with a razor any more than I'd trust him with the Nuclear Football. Someone else would be shaving him because shaving cuts are no fun to cover up.

13. I would fear the Risen Nixon's abilities
One of the few things we have going for us is bush's complete and utter incompetence. Nixon was not only competent and criminal, but a solid campaigner and debater as well. No, I don't think I'd want Nixon running the show right now.

Ask me this question in 2005 if bush wins anyway, and yeah, I'd probably say Nixon. Right now, the chance is better of unseating bush.

The Jury is still out on Bush.

Nixon opened up China which wasn't such a bad thing. Most of the world hates us because of Bush.

21. I voted Nixon..
but I'm not so sure it's that big of a difference. Considering the media we have now and the fact that the GOP controls Congress, Nixon could well be much scarier circa 2004 than he was 30+ years ago.
