What sorts of resolutions could they pass?

I'm not 100% sure about it; I'll look it up.

But France would veto with the US (history indicates that) , as would the UK.

3. US has veto in Security Council
The US has a veto in the Security Council and so no resolution could be passed without our consent. The General Assembly can pass some sort of resolution of condemnation but that would have no force or effect.

6. Beat me to it. There might well be a GA resolution...
but the RW in this country would use it to deny paying the UN dues.

8. veto can be overridden
if a security council resolution is vetoed, it can be sent to the General assembly. Surprisingly, it was the US that came up with that, to overcome the soviet vetos, however, when that started to be used against us, the US shrugged it off as unnecessary.

5. Maybe this is why repukes say the UN is dead, passe...
Doesn't matter what we do, we can abuse power to our heart's content. Ridicule, torture, murder, and wade in blood up to our armpits. There's nothing the UN can do.

So, what can be done?
