1. On Monday morning? There must be something new and
incredibly damaging getting ready to emerge. Videos or photos even worse than we have been led to expect. Something so dreadful that the Chimp is trying a preemptive move on a Monday morning. Unheard of for this administration.

43. Worse is being chewed to death by someone infinitely more
incompetent than you, which, much as I think Rummy is an incompetent ass (or, perhaps more precisely, a psychotic morally bankrupt POS who's actually quite smart, just an evil fuck), imagine being told to resign by someone who is obviously, evidentally, and utterly clearly entirely incompetent at his own post. By that I mean, of course, our Idiot Freeloading Freebaser In Chief.

11:00am - Morale speech to troops.
1:00pm - Visit to Abu Ghraib prison with Bremer. Photo op.

8. They've decided to do what they've done before
Time to cut our losses, sez Rove. And the line will be:

"Rummy's resigned now; it was all his fault. Let's put this behind us. No need for investigations or 'politics.' Those isolated few individuals who done bad will be punished and that's all that needs to be said."

If they do it, it means they think they've got the Congress sufficiently in the bag that the hearings for a new appointee will be controlled and not allowed to get into a rehash of the whole Iraq policy.

How I read it, anyhoo.

He can only laugh at words because he can not read them.

He will step outside, smirk and tell CNN that "My pal Rummy is doing a "good" or "wonderful" job." Then he will say ,"I am the President and I know that he is the man that can get the job done. I am in charge and he is staying."

End of story, He will take no questions.

they can ride out this action until after the elections.

Rumsfeld should be there for every single press conference and have all the guns turned on him. He should stay there until more of the media turn.

Tumsfeld going is a cop-out and a stall and makes it easier for them to regain poll numbers.

Bad move for us.

FURIOUS BUSH DEMANDS TO SEE ALL PRISONER ABUSE PHOTOS, VIDEOS
A furious President Bush has demanded to see all photos and videos showing abuse of Iraq detainees, a senior White House source said late Sunday.

"The president was blindsided by the first TV images, he will not be blindsided again," the source, who demanded anonymity, explained to the DRUDGE REPORT.

The president has instructed Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to present him with him all known images that could further deepen the crises.

Bush will sacrifice someone else before Rumsfield. And the best sacrifice is a big overkill sacrifice, to appease the people.

Myers, Kimmit. Someone like that, maybe. Myers was just criticized by a senator (Hagle?). May have been the setup for tomorrow.

Rumsfield and Bush will emerge and announce that Rumsfield has decided to fire x, and both Bush and Rumsfield can look like the victims.

Anyway, just another possibility.

33. A public show of support for Rumsfeld
I know others have pointed it out but I wanted to reiterate it because I think people are getting their hopes up.(actually, I prefer that rumsfeld stay and bring Chimp down in the elections) Chimp is going to the Pentagon to stand shoulder to shoulder with Rumsfeld, before the media and the world, in a public show of support for the demon. I actually welcome this because there are more photos coming and the growing anger for Rumsfeld's crimes will intensify. So, Chimp will have wed himself, in a grand fasion with Rumsfeld. It will be to late to fire him later because then that would make chimp A FLIP FLOPPER.

38. Newsday reports it will be a reiteration of Bush's public support.
Cheney made news late last night by warning Americans, and Congress, essentially, to "get off Rumsfeld's back," and he even went on to call him the greatest Secretary of State, like, ever. Earlier in the week, Condi told the media that she and the President were both "strongly" behind the Secretary of Defense.

No way does Chimpy have the balls to hang Cheney and Condi, his two most loyal master/servants, in front of the press corps tomorrow.

Near the end of the article:

http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/world/ny-usprison0510,0,3358776.story?coll=ny-homepage-big-pix

Bush is expected to reiterate his support for Rumsfeld when he visits the Pentagon today for a briefing on the Iraqi conflict and other military matters.

44. Love that song!
And I think of it every time I see Rumsfeld do his thing on tv.

I hope and pray Bush* is going to do a photo op of support for Rumsfeld. That would be sweet, because Rummy's going down, and the more it embarrasses Bush* the better.

Who was it who said on Friday that if Rumsfeld couldn't put this thing to rest by Monday, he would have to resign? I read that somewhere. And it is certainly not "at rest". Sy Hersh's appearance on tv today describing the pictures of the man bitten by dogs was devastating. He revealed that there are two different groups of pictures of two different battalions taking part in torture. He told of soldiers loosing an attack dog on confined Iraqi civilians, including women and children.

Hersh also spoke of photographs of soldiers having sex with each other. The whole thing is hideously sordid and almost beyond our capacity to take in. But it is clear that there is serious disorder, failure of training and discipline, and improper and unseemly behavior going on.

Someone must be held responsible for this, and it should be Rumsfeld.

I think his REAL worry are his election numbers...the fundies could care less about these Arabs being tortured,a few of the crazier nutjobs like Limbaugh are actually cheering it, but a lot of those fundy church ladies are horrified at the sexual perversion aspect of this.

Maybe the media will try to challenge the constiutionality of such an order.
