Though he needs to be back on as well. I ran across a guy who is a San Francisco radio legend. His name is Alex Bennett. He had been on the radio in the Bay Area and would have comedians and other people on his shows. They would also talk about politics too and he is an unapologetic liberal and doesn't take any crap. He has a website as well....

There is also a link where he and this brain dead neocon talk show host Paul McGuire debated about the Iraq situation.

If anything, he should be at least considered for a slot on AirAmerica. He would do well.

Anybody familiar with Alex Bennett?

on KQAK "The Quake" back in the 80's, Will Durst used to sit in with him as well as the who's who of SF comedy circuit and other national guests, there was also public seating for a studio audience...it was hilarious at times

3. I remember.
I also remember when he was on KITS Live 105 as well. I didn't like the way they dumped him in 1989 and brought in Perry Stone who sucked. Alex can hold his own as a talk show host and I think he would also be great on Air America. I guess he no longer lives in SF and returned to New York doing his radio show on Sirius satellite.

I honestly think he should do his show on regular radio. We need more voices like his on the air.

4. wasn't exactly impressed with his Colmes interview
he spent the whole time kissing his butt and bashing Air America, perhaps because they're both Sirius hosts.

5. I did n't hear that.
They only bashed Air America earlier in the interview. I think they spent more time bashing CNN.

However Bennett does have a point about Air America. I think they really need to overhaul their lineup. I think they need to get some actual talk show hosts like Mike Malloy, Ed Schultz, Guy James, Bernie Ward, Mike Webb, etc... Air America should not be like Comedy Central. I like Janeane Garofalo and Al Franken but come on. The current formula is not working.
