Was our recently interred friend correct?
Should all of us "anti-American and anti-military trash need to get the fuck out of America now"? I mean, what if this wasn't an angry and self-aggrandizing suggestion but was instead a warning? Like,"all of you anti-American and anti-military trash need to get the fuck out of America now before we steal another election and force you pinko hippy trash into internment camps for reeducation!" Maybe our dearly departed guest was really a Democratic sympathizer working deep in the Bush regime and was able to send us advance warning of the cabal's plan to do away with the opposition! Heavens! What if he/she was an ally and we merely scoffed at him/her like he/she was a common freeper!

These are the sort of thoughts that living under Generalissimo Arbusto have produced in my head.

:)

4. I missed that, but...
all of my life I have heard the "Love it or Leave it" refrain.

Curiously, it is never people fighting for, say, voting rights, who have this attitude, but always the rightwing nutters.

Back in the '60s, we heard a lot of people telling us to love it or leave it when we protested the war or Jim Crow laws. We even heard it anew when we got the EPA.

Rarely do I hear anyone say "love it or leave it" to anyone who wants to, say, dismantle the food stamp program.

They always ignore the second half of the "My country, right or wrong..." quote.

7. I've been checking out Denmark.
If the Chimp is elected or placed back in office this fall, I won't want to raise my children here.

On the other hand, it would probably be more honorable to stay and fight for impeachments.

Also, people are generally the same all over the world. As folks are posting on another thread, many people have a little Nazi inside, waiting for the right environment in which to grow and break out.

If things get even worse - if the Chimp gets back in office - then it will just mean that America has to hit a lower bottom before we start to recover.

The rage of one who has been revealed to himself and others of being impotent, of being a cipher and a tool, of failing as a warrior, for the principle purpose of the warrior is not merely to win battles to to bear honorably the spiritual legacy of his or her people.

Consider Japan and Germany ... we beat them militarily but we conquered them honorably by winning their friendship. By doing so, we were able to bestow upon them our gifts ... and they reciprocated by bestowing upon us their own gifts. The Japanese in particular have had an enriching impact on our culture.

We conquered them by showing them mercy and respect in our moment of victory. We have not done this in Iraq. Instead, we have shown them sexual perversion.

I say to him ... quit defiling the soil of my father's country and go join the communist wannabes in the former Soviet Union, where a mindless thug can be properly appreciated.
