There Are 1000 Photos
"It took a lot of guts for him to do what he did," his wife, Bernadette Darby, told the Daily News.

She said her husband "stands for what he believes in," and was a man who often went out of his way to stick up for family and friends.

"His parents had very, very high convictions," she said. "They taught him you don't do things that are wrong."

Darby slipped an anonymous note under a military investigator's door in January about the stomach-churning treatment the prisoners were subjected to by fellow soldiers. He later turned in a CD-ROM with 1,000 photos documenting the atrocities, according to a recently disclosed internal Army report.

1. MYERS COVERUP GOING WELL
Meyers is working overtime to keep the lid on this. According to MSNBC the "PICTURES
AREN'T EVEN IN DC YET"

What a Freaking LIE. They could send a Giga bite of data in 2 seconds for heaven sakes ---do
they believe we are that STOOPID ??

NeoCon Fucking liars posing as Generals

Next week or the week after next the NEOCON Generals plan to let a few select congressMEN
see them..

Then after the congressMEN go on TV with their usual outrage statements THE PENTAGON
will decide what to do next.

I hope the DINOS and others keep the heat on these CRIMINALS IN UNIFORM

4. I don't believe the military has ALL the pics!
Certainly if I was Meyers or Rummy, I would classify them too! But I don't think they have ALL the pics. Digital Cameras are very popular, and it's way too easy to make copies.

Bet ya some if not all surface soon from somewhere!

3. Let's see, a spindle of 50 CD-Rs costs about $20 at Fry's...
...my initial reaction to the CDR wasn't "oh, they made a CDR"...it was "How MANY did they burn?"

Also, I find it curious that in this age of file sharing and a military armed with laptops as well as firearms, there's little mention of KaZaa, Limewire, Bearshare, etc...

Given what we've learned so far, doesn't it stand to reason that hordes of sick bastards are accessing and enjoying SOMEONE's "shared folders"....hmmmm???? I guess the reason our "intelligence" community is silent on this is that they are following up on some "hot leads."

7. If those pix are out there, why aren't we seeing them?
I don't know what to think about this. I don't know if the DoD has them all under wraps, if they're making the whole thing up, if they're doing things to and/or on the 'Net to censor things, I just don't know.

But I can't believe that in this cyber age, there is only one Joe Darby and only one CD. . . . . . . .

11. Agreed...there's no way there is "1" CD...and...
...you can call a jpeg file anything you want to call it.

And you can call the folder it's saved in anything you want, too.

It seems that it would be next to impossible for the DoD to have them "all under wraps"...but it also seems entirely possible that the 1000 photos are exaggerated, fabricated, etc.

I guess we'll know when / if they go public.

But after seeing the attack dog pic today, I think we've seen enough. I don't know who the man in that photo is, I don't know what he did or was suspected of doing or why he's standing bareassed in front of three soldiers and two snarling dogs...but I do know a terrified human being when I see one. Who the hell needs the other 999 photos after seeing that?

18. I lived in Saudi and they did not like dogs.
Dogs were dirty animals to them. You rarely even saw then running wild. I never saw any one who had a dog but did know a few locals that had cats around, sort of wild things. I also never saw a dog when I was in the towns, or market places. Of course as a rule poor countries do not have pets as animals must earn their keep. So to these people dogs must seem odd, but not as bad as Saudi as these are not really such religious people.

8. Darby Is A Hero.
Rummy, Myers, and Bush are irresponsible leaders shamed in their care of protecting the citizens of the country they chose, without cause, to occupy.

13. Who created the CD in the first place?
Darby didn't TAKE the photos. So he must have copied them from somewhere. A computer at the prison? Several computers? Or someone else made the CD and Darby just had a dupe?

15. Apparently some of the soldiers were swapping pictures,
using them as screen-savers, sending them home to friends and family, etc.

It's a sign that the top brass knew and approved when the rank-and-file took smiling pictures of themselves and shared them without fear. Nobody was trying to cover this up. Apparently many of these photos were taken as souvenirs.

Edited on Mon May-10-04 11:24 AM by Stephanie
And who will see them and when or if they will release them.

These pix must be in MANY hands. Is there a news outlet that is sitting on these pix?

27. Classifying them means the BFEE can PROSECUTE those who leak them.
...The leaks of these are coming from way high in the Pentagon. The good people there are just as revolted by what the BFEE is doing to the Constitution, the nation and the world.

That's why DU is so important, Stephanie! You and the team here are gettting the Truth out. Keep up the good fight! Down with the BFEE!
