Fascism... but there are some who want to call them Nazis, regardless of personal opinion, too radioactive of a term

8. Once they crossed the line from dictatorship to torture, they
became the Nazi version of fascists. I don't buy that they didn't know anything. Those orders came from high places in the WH. We are going to have to get them to admit it.

18. use the word in discusions
with regular muricans, they will recoil and refuse to listen to you

Here is how I manage this, these days...

I just give them the facts, sooner or later people reachy their own conclusions... and if they come out and tell me, they are acting like Nazis (rarely), or Fascits, more often, then we can have a discusion...

But it is far beter when people reach their own conclusions

20. I only use the word around like-minded people like here at DU.
I know when trying to educate the uninformed it's better to lead them gently and not hit them with a stick.

3. Fachism is essential to Wagnerian opera
http://tenorland.com/fachlist.html

"The German Fach System is a system which categorizes singers by certain voice types, or "fachs," in order to aid the singer in the preparation of roles that are well suited for them and their career. It can also enable the opera house manager to plan future seasons, as well as cast roles. This system is currently in use by opera houses in the countries of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland."

14. It Began with the Stolen Election in 2000
and they did it again in 2002,

with each contest actually being decided by a highly-suspicious plane crash.
Then there was the anthrax, sent to Democrats by "terrorists", from
some government lab.

Night of the Long Knives anyone?

"Are you a fascist?" Even if we back off from such a statement, it will certainly make people think.

19. fascism is despotism, the symptoms are obvious:
- highly concentrated economic power
- highly concentrated political power
- highly concentrated media power
- manifestations of limitation of respect ("apartheid"), ie the de facto discrimination of blacks and other poor/ethnic minorities that is the "war on drugs".

See "Despotism", an educational movie produced by Encyclopaedia Britannica in 1946:
http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=prelinger&collectionid=00178

This doesn't refute "The 14 Characteristics of Fascism" that circulates on the internet. That is more specific to the despotism of Hitler and Mussolini. The four symptoms listed above are universal to all that is tyranny, dictatorship, totalitarianism, fascism, nazism, etc.
