Anyone think Franken's show is a bore?
I try to listen, but it is so dull. I don't know why, Franken is a great comedian, but maybe he just isn't a great talk show host.

2. I agree
I miss Mike Malloy! He knew what to do on the RADIO.

Randi knows what to do, too, so I wait for her show.

15. Absolutely... Malloy is a natural on the radio.
Franken, on the other hand is, well, ...immature! He acts like a little child a lot of times.

Someone asked him a really serious question yesterday, he made some terribly lame joke, then just cut the guy off. Yuck!

I also don't think Franken is, well... liberal enough. He certainly has a lot of freeper-type "friends", e.g. G. Gordon Liddy. Ack!

21. randi was a good talker
(Or IS - I'm in LA where AA got pulled. We still have Pacifica, though, and they're fun.)

I thought she had more style than substance, but her style is good. She's confrontational, but nice at the same time -- at some level, that's a little pathological, but, it makes for interesting radio.

Franken is a little more in the sedate direction, and funnier, but... I dunno... doesn't push the same buttons.

On the flip side, calm talkers are good too, especially if their content is intense.

10. Millions of others?
Have they released ratings yet? I've been very interested to find out what the audience size is.

4. I like him.
It did take a bit of an adjustment on my part since he is very halting in his speech. I've just come to accept that and it doesn't bother me. I think he gets great guest and I love that fact that he holds up at least one lie a day that is told by the far right. Give him a chance.

6. A little, but not nearly enough to not want to listen.

Its funny, the guests are great. The discussions are good.

The pacing is bad, some of the bits are too long. He rambles when handling callers.

Overall I think its a good show. Hopefully the longer he does radio the better he will become at making things concise.

He and Randi Rhodes are a great 1,2 punch though. You get your drier, interview heavy Franken, and then the fast paced caller centered, heavy attitude Rhodes.

8. Same here.

He's funny, but only in small doses.

He's got a freaking senator on the phone and he takes
20 seconds to do a really bad impersonation skit of
the senator and Paul Simon.

:wtf:

And I wish they would talk about "what's going on in Israel" or else just stop asking.

20. I never miss it
he's got great guests. I think Randi's show is much better but she doesn't have the guests. I do kind of get annoyed at how much attention they give to what the right wing morans are saying (Rush, Hannity and O'Liely) but I guess it is important to point out that their shows are based totally on lies. And I always turn down the sound or leave the room when he talks to his Ditto head friend. The guy is an utter and complete idiot. I don't understand how Al can be friends with such a brain dead imbecile. I can't stand to listen to his idiotic rationalizations for that Windbag. But to answer your question, no, I don't find it boring in general. He's getting a lot better too.

I don't know why they do it, maybe to show Franken's show is open-minded?

25. I enjoy that segment.
It is to show that they are open minded and willing to debate with competent right wingers. Its one of the better segments imo, except that its poorly planned sometimes and gets into two people talking at each other, but honestly, is there any other way that debates with right wingers could end?

23. It depends on what you like . . . for me, Randi Rhodes is too
shrill and repetative. I can only take her for about a half hour, even though I agree with her outrage.

So I like Franken's laid back style . . .

and listen to them both. But Majority Report is the best program they have. But, I feel that way probably because I've had a crush for Janeane for decades now. Hubba-Hubba.
