Scott McClellans quote about the beheading. Makes me sick!
....said White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, traveling with President Bush (news - web sites) in Arkansas. "It shows the true nature of the enemies of freedom. They have no regard for the lives of innocent men, women and children. We will pursue those who are responsible and bring them to justice."

Scott, your office is right down the hall from them, the pursuit should be easy!

22. Some truth to it, actually, though Bush doesn't know it.
Consider where people get their image of American culture from: TV and movies. That's the face of America around the world for most people.

Now, we all know how fundamentalists like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell feel about our "liberal" media.

Next, consider how a Muslim fundy might feel. He's going to think America is decadent, immoral, a-religious, and corrupt. The difference is that, instead of wanting to save you from hell like the Robertsons and Falwells, he wants to send you there without delay.

In fact, most Muslim countries restrict their own media (and Internet access!) to keep out the "unclean" ideas and images of the more open West.

So in a way, they do hate the fact that we are free to be "immoral".

Don't get me wrong. I don't think George Bush realizes this and I don't think he's fighting for freedom. I think he just used the word "freedom" as a propaganda tool.

It's funny how he said something true, but only by accident.

The Abu Ghraib situation will soon be forgotten.

This is a direct result of our unethical treatment. This is just one more failure on top of many. I agree with you, we created this mess.

how they take a death they caused and use it to their own advantage to spin the righteousness of their own position. And we know they will NEVER pursue those who are responsible because "WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US"!

Berg will become a martyr, a neo-con christ, a John Birch. A well-intentioned innocent in whose name horrible, horrible things will be done.

17. You should have brought them to justice TWO FUCKING YEARS AGO
Oh wait, then you wouldn't be able to paint Saddam as a terrorist lover by proxy, and the case for invasion would be weakened. Well then, that's okay.
