Harold Ford, Jr on CROSSFIRE now
He's quickly becoming one of my favorites. Very eloquent, Tucker keeps going with his "gotcha" questions and he ends up being left speechless.

1. I like him!
Never seen him before in my life, but he handled the question about the Kerry e-mail very well! Gave the right answer - not only the answer that's correct politically but the truth as well.

4. What did he say?
I'm kind of "newsed" out lately. I had to stop watching most of it, if I wanted to still have a TV. But I am interested in this, so if you could help me out...

5. Tucker asked him
about the Kerry campaign sending an email out about the prisoner abuse, and then asking people to donate at the end.

Ford explained to Tucker that both the Bush campaign and Kerry campaign have a place at the end of everything they distribute asking for donations.

Fair enough, I guess
I kind of thought they should just own it as an oversight and be done with it; but this works okay too. Good deal, thanks!

2. His senate campaign will begin rolling in about a year and half
His opponent will probably be Zach Wamp. It'll be tough but I bet he can pull out a win.

6. I don't think Harold Ford will be old enough to run........
for the Senate in two years. A senatorial candidate has to be at least 35 years old and Harold Ford is only in his late twenties, right?

8. That's 35 for President...
...and he missed the cutoff for that by about a month. He's presently 34, and will be 35 in the beginning of 2005.

10. From what I remember in my HS Civics class............

the minimum age requirements for
President and Senator are the same - 35.

Stands to reason, in the event of a catastrophe, the line of succession goes through the Vice-President, then the Cabinet(I guess all cabinet nominees must be at least 35 years of age as well.), then the Senate.

11. I assure you, the age is 30
And the person the succession line goes to in the senate is the Pro Tempore, who is the person who's beeen in the senate longest.

3. Tucker Carlson doesn't have the "gravitas" to spar with Harold Ford, Jr.
Must be painful to watch.
