Are people here going to John Kerry meetups?
It's odd that they were so popular during the primary but not now

1. I have been going to them.
They had been holding more of them in April than in March.

2. I went to an event advertised as a Kerry meetup...
...But it was an old Dean meetup crew. Some were there for Kerry because he was the alternative to * and others were there for Dean and seemed to be nursing a grudge.

3. The last one I went to was a farce...
There were 17 people who had acknowledged they'd be attending, but when I got to the meeting location I could see no evidence of any meetup except a Kerry bumper sticker in the parking lot.

I wandered around for awhile and eventually located two people looking confused talking politics. It turned out they were wondering the same thing I was: Where is everyone? We talked a bit, and eventually two others who had overheard us approached and asked if we were there for the meetup.

So, there were five of us, out of 17, and none of us were the person or people who originally organized it. None of us had voted for that location. None of us had a clue what was going on. None of us had been to a Kerry Meetup before. Three had been to Dean meetups, and two others were Clark supporters who'd never been to a meetup at all.

So, mostly we just chatted for awhile about how hopeless Oklahoma was in the Presidential race, briefly discussed the Senate campaign, and then went our separate ways.

It was disappointing to say the least.
