Why do I feel Americans are being cruelly manipulated ?
On top of the terrible photos of abuse and torture of Iraqi detainees, we now see a video today of a young American being beheaded. The timing is suspect, if nothing else. And the manipulation of emotions and feelings, intentional or not, is obvious to anyone that wants to look at themselves in the mirror. The feelings of disgust from yesterday are replaced with feelings of revenge today. We want justice. It's a total turnaround in only one day. And we must question the whys and hows....

1. yes,
the timing is just a mite too coincidental, especially after bush's p.r. disaster yesterday.

2. well
I thought yesterday that it was all breaking to distract from Kerry's $25 million ad buy.

But, that's probably just the tinfoil side of my brain. :tinfoilhat:

6. Considering the beheading happened last month, what took
them so long? Their MO is to heat up a frenzy of hate since 9-11. I will be so happy when the twilight of the BFEE happens, if I am still alive.

8. Remeber the song "blowin in the wind"?
especially the line about "how many times can a man turn his cheek and just pretend he does not see?" I think that's how it goes.

10. I think it will have the opposite effect.
I see all the violence in Iraq as one big ball of violence and I think the American people will see it that way also. We no longer have a reason to be there. We never did but all the reasons the koolaide drinkers talk about have vanished.

We are left fighting a war without anything to gain for it. We are no longer liberators. We have created a world that is as bad as the one we were supposed to free the Iraqis from.

I don't think the American people will take up sides against the people they felt good about bringing democracy to.

What are we saying? Kill the ungrateful bastards?
