Brokaw / NBC and Liberal Media

Last night I was flipping thru channels, and stopped on a fascinating story by Tom Brokaw on the Nightly News. The question of the story was 'If the abuse photos are over-reported'. I woke up completely and decided to listen....after a few minutes I felt somewhat sick. Let me get this straight...a sexual act between 2 adults deserved 24x7 coverage on every channel, including business...but you think this might be getting covered too much? And then they have that moron Inhofe spew his nonsense again....You know, at times like these, I say 'Thank God we got Liberal Media!'

I posted a Boston Globe column in GD that said much of the same thing.

I can't help but make this observation -- 24/7 channels - the prime time lineup on cable stations etc really began with the OJ trial. They need content to fill up time - so a sex act between two consenting adults had to be made into something more. Now, the Whitewater conspiracy folks are dumbfounded when the 24.7 programs are filling up their time with torture photos and stories on what is happening in IRAQ.

Would be funny if it weren't so tragic.

From the networks that have brought you 24-hour coverage on Lewinsky, Condit, Kobe, and Michael - NOW they choose to ask, "are we covering something too much?"
