8. Really!
Of the 53% who don't want these photos seen by the general public, I wonder who they would trust to decide for them which photos should and should not be seen...

10. But, if you notice
Edited on Thu May-13-04 10:07 AM by HFishbine
they aren't asking, "Should all of the photos be released?" There's a very real difference between "Do you want to see them all?" and "Should they all be released?"

Who writes these crappy poll questions anyway, Baghdad Bob?

2. Yes now down to 47%.
Push-poll phrasing again.

How about: Should the new pictures be out in public where the public CAN see them?

SHEESH Then you could look at them if you wanted to, and others could describe them.

3. Americans Don't Know That We Raped/Murdered Innocent Iraqis
because all they've seen are photos of Iraqis being "humiliated" and the media/GOP are intentionally trying to make us think that is all we've done.

I started a thread about this, it's extremely important that the public be made aware of what happened.

5. Question is poorly phrased
It should not be "do you want to" because many people may not "want to" see the pictures, while they still believe all the pictures should be disclosed. More whoring, IOW.

7. EXACTLY: the question is "SHOULD THEY BE RELEASED"
and my guess is this wording was intentional!

9. Still 47%, with 13,919 votes in. Disgusting. Thanks for the chance to vote
on it, anyway. Every vote helps at this point.

11. The Iraqi photos?
Are these pix from Iraqis? This is very subtle, avoiding any reference to the US responsibility or the military. Could have said "Abu Ghraib photos" "prison abuse photos" (though prison torture would be better, but we wouldn't want to be called terrorists by John Warner, even if Karen Hughes doesn't mind linking pro=choice people to terrorists...rant/off)

These insidious language techniques are slipped in everywhere. It is the drip, drip, drip that wears down resistance and defeats argument.

12. Another BULLSHIT Poll... Ask It THIS WAY Instead...
How about... "Do you believe that the photos should be released to the public?"

Personally, I don't want to see them myself. Yet that's what the poll is asking... if *I* want to see them. No, I don't want to see them.

Should they be released for those who DO want to see them? YES!

Another reason that even "scientific polls" are bullshit. It's all in the asking and it's all in the analysis. Interesting, maddening, sometimes fun... but still bullshit.

13. It's not so much that I WANT to see them, I don't but the Government
OF the people has no right to keep them FROM the people. Hypocritical sacks of sewage.

Edited on Thu May-13-04 10:59 AM by Texican
It seems that many of the photos are of England and others having group sex. I could just pass on those.

17. Why shouldn't they be available? We paid for 'em
I think we ought to see what our money bought, and what the people acting in our name are doing.

For the folks voting no: I have a marvelous opportunity for you! Just send large portions of your disposable income to me, gratuitous, and I will use my magical powers to make your life better in ways that you can't identify or quantify. Make those checks payable to the "gratuitous early retirement fund" and send them to:
