Anybody know anything about a site called madcow morning news?
are they hot air or fresh air? Am not familiar with it or Daniel Hopsicker. Can anybody render an opinion? Wondering cuz it was suggested (with qualifier that the poster didn't know about the site's veracity) when I was wondering about the Israeli movers lost in Tennessee story. Hopsicker writes that one of the drivers is son of a Likud party spokesman. Curious if he is a good source or a hoax Meister.

Anyone have any info about the rest of the story of the Israeli movers lost in New Mexico while en route from Texas to Illinois last summer?

1. Hopsicker's a very good source.
He's a true investigative reporter, and he's done a lot of important work digging into the Florida connection to the 9/11 terrorists. I recently read his book, Welcome to Terrorland. Highly recommend it.

2. Thank you, Minstrel Boy.
Your opinion has weight with me.

OK, might wanna take a look here, at link provided by DUer bemildred:
http://madcowprod.com/

<snip> The leader of the two Israelis arrested after leading police on a high speed chase in a moving van last Saturday in rural Tennessee is the son of the spokesman for the Likud Party of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the MadCowMorningNews has learned.

<snip> The arrested Israeli 'mover,' Shmuel Dahan, 23, is himself a former spokesman, for the National Union of Israeli Students which represents the country's 150,000 university students.

<snip> News that one of the two Israeli 'movers' belonged to that country's political elite might have proven useful in the criminal investigation underway in rural North Carolina and Tennessee, where the two men led authorities on a high-speed chase in a rented moving van last weekend.

<snip> However, the investigation was halted Wednesday, after the men were released from Unicol County Jail to the custody of federal officials from the INS, where they face only a deportation hearing.

So why do Israelis with questionable papers keep getting lost on back roads in America? Have always been pro Israeli myself but no fan of Sharon at all.

What was the end of the story of those two in NM with the expired visas and an overdue rental truck contracted for an in-city move in Chicago last summer? Expired visas puts these guys into the hands of INS and out of the local hands that made the initial stops. Rather interesting, that little jurisdictional fine point. Keeps local law enforcement out of the loop and unable to give any information beyond reporting the initial stop. Pretty convenient containment technique.

3. Remember "Urban Moving Systems"?
The five Israeli intelligence operatives arrested on Sept 11, filming and, according to witnesses, celebrating the attacks, worked under the cover of "Urban Moving Systems." The owner was Israeli Dominick Suter. From a New Jersey State press release, "on or about September 14, 2001, Suter departed from the United States and left no one acting as an agent" for his company. (http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/press/storage.htm) He turned up in Israel, and says only "no comment."

Just as America isn't the CIA and Bush, Israel isn't Mossad and Sharon. I think both agencies, and both men, are doing grievous harm to their nations.

6. Minstrel Boy, can you help me out with a question?
I feel like I don't have the right language to express certain aspects of my perception of reality. I'm looking for a word that encompasses people involved in clandestine intelligence and paramilitary operations. With the news coming out about the outsourcing to mercenaries of various "security" operations, it is looking more and more like there are squads of both privately and state funded operatives working all over the planet. I'd like to have a language that encompassed this and then more detailed ways of breaking it down--the various kinds of special forces and what they may be up to. Can you help with that?

10. I don't know if I can. Our language seems inadequate

to describe this.

But Peter Dale Scott coined a term, "deep politics," which helps me understand the Bush years, and much of the past 40 years of American history:

"A deep political system or process is one which habitually resorts to decision-making and enforcement procedures outside...those publicly sanctioned by law and society. In popular terms, collusive secrecy and law-breaking are part of how the deep political system works."

"Deep politics" sees a union of state and high-criminal authority because their interests coincide, usually around money. So, for example, we see such supposedly contrary elements as the CIA, organized crime and terrorists, in business together trading drugs, laundering money and committing murder. For those who tut-tut "conspiracy theories", there's no conjecture about the money trail. That's the story of BCCI, Nugan Hand, Banco Abrosiano and the looting of the Savings and Loans.

In her recent interview (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=1555133&mesg_id=1555133), Sibel Edmonds said about the intel she'd seen re: 9/11, "You get to a point where it gets very complex, where you have money laundering activities, drug related activities, and terrorist support activities converging at certain points and becoming one." Now, that's deep politics.

12. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I met PDS about 8 years ago.
Remarkable man and I value his observations highly.

Looks like an octopus to me. I'd like to be able to identify the tenticles a little more clearly.

Best,

BMU

9. Agree on bush* and Sharon. Neither are their nation's best, brightest.
When Sharon visited the temple mount during his campaign, I threw in the towel on any hopes for 5 minutes of peace there in my lifetime. And the shrub is just the front man for the most evil, vile creatures American soil has ever spawned. If the world were to hold either nation accountable for the crimes perpetrated by these men's gangs, both nations would be wiped off the planet. Sadly, we have made plenty of enemies from the shit they have sown. Luck for us the rest of the world is better at nuance than our home grown freepers are.

5. Everything on his site is worth reading
His coverage of the hijinks involving Mohammed Atta, the Venice, FL flight schools, and related issues is enough to curl your hair. It should be required reading for everyone within an interest in the subject.

8. Thanks, starroute and beam_me_up
There are lots of good sources out there and lots of psych-ops and dis-information sites too. Hard for my old brain to keep them all sorted out. "I get by with a little help from my friends"
