The Right-Wing Repubs are Really, Really, Really Over-Confident...
Edited on Thu May-13-04 03:00 PM by kentuck
Especially those in the rightwing media. We are talking about Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, and those types. They can't wait until the election. They are counting down the days. They know, they just know, they are going to kick the Democrats asses. But what if it doesn't turn out the way they think??

What will they say? What will they do? How will they continue to live? How will they address the new Adminstration of John Kerry? Will they start at day one to tear it down? Of course they will. Let them. We would be disappointed if they did not.

1. first they'll blame the "Liberal Media"
then they'll go on about how voting Bush out means that the "terrorists have won", then they'll start to tear down the new admin

8. 100% correct
How soon after a Kerry inaugeration do they start an investigation of the death of anybody near Kerry the past 10 years? Rush has already implied that Kerry had Senator Heinz killed so he could marry Theresa Heinz...

2. What if they are right, though??
Isn't that a scary thought? and I don't like the way the polls are trending, which is to say, they're not. The country is still split right down the middle.

9. I don't believe that is true....50/50.
Less than half of registered voters in the US even bother to vote. Of them it's probably a 3-way split of D, R and I now.

If the other half decides to get off their lazy butts and vote this time around, why would they vote for Smirk? If anything, the motivation for them to vote will be the negative things happening to them or our country, such as outsourcing, manufacturing job losses, rising gasoline and healthcare costs, the war and the obvious lack of responsibility being taken at the top in any of the multitudes of scandals in just the last 6 months alone! Who has been fired? Who resigned? Oh, the only people who were/did have written books negative for BushCo.

The media is obfuscating.

28. People who don't vote
don't count. I think that there are two types of non-voters. The truly apathetic, the beaten-down, those that are in despair. We might could get them/ And those that are perfectly happy with the way things are going, and don't bother to vote. If these people actualy vote, they would probably go for the incumbent, in this case *. so, 50/50

"No challenger has ever done (polled) as well against an elected incumbent at this point in the cycle."

13. things are looking good.
Kerry is doing much better than Clinton was against Bush I at this point & the same goes for Carter vs. Reagan. Political junkies are paying attention but more casual (even though likely) voters aren't. With Bush's approval numbers dropping, Kerry's numbers will go up as we get nearer the election.

29. There's only one poll that means diddly-squat.
The President will control a lot of the pacing of this election. Well, we'll see. I just think we shouldn't get optimistic until after the election is over.

15. They don't listen to each other, silly!
They just refer to the daily RNC "blast faxes", which tell them what to think each day.

It's a well-oiled propaganda machine that's served them well. The Democrats could learn a thing or two from their methods.

If there were a way to instantly coordinate FACTUAL rebuttals to these ridiculous spin points and to put their message across, the Democrats could win big. Dean was on the right track for this, but was cut down.

11. I'm surprised
There hasn't been a president in worse shape than * in modern times at this point in the campaign. I guess they are relying on bbv, but states are already rejecting the diebold machines. I predict that not only will * lose, but he will lose badly. By at least 7-8 points.

1. Blame Liberal Media.
2. Blame Liberal Multiculturalists.
3. Say Kerry Victory is Victory for Osama.
4. Repeat for Four Years.

Easy formula for simple conservative minds.

16. Self Interest

Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, all the rest of the RW became very famous and wealthy attacking Clinton. They realize it is much much easier to attack (because they just lie) than defend (because they don't have any answers or excuses). Either way frankly, they win - so if Kerry wins, full employment - if Bush* wins - full employment.

They are entertainers - not journalists, not even pundits.

17. Its not actually overconfidence. Its a tactic
Do not acknowledge the negative and promote the positive. In this way they erode the truth and replace it with the reality of their choosing. Its been Bush's tactics from day one.

21. well.....
they can't criticise the president if we are still fighting the war on terrorism, they said so themselves. unless of course they only meant you can't criticise bush while we are fighting the war on terrorism and left out the specifics.

they wouldn't want to be hypocritical would they?

20. What's strange is that they still see themselves as victims.
They have the media, the White House, both bodies of Congress and the Supreme Court, yet they still howl and bray as if they are victims of the vast liberal conspiracy. Let them puff out their chests for now. They will unhinge when President Kerry is sworn in. I have the jiffy pop ready.

25. They will continue to spew their hate for
the next 4 years just as they did when Clinton was President and they will continue to politize everything and look under rocks for any little scandal they can lie about involving Kerry. It's going to be the same old, same old as far as their actions go...cause they are incapable of anything else. :puke:
