Task Force 121 ? Gen. Boykin? POW torture in Iraq? = WTF?
Did Rumbo step up the fierceness and intensity of the questioning of detainees for political reasons?(softening up) Why would he do that and was he under pressure from Bush and Karl Rove because Bush was starting to see his poll numbers dropping for public approval of the war in Iraq? Increasing political pressure to find Saddam because Bush looked like an idiot to the world with Saddam and Osama running loose for so long after "mission accomplished", "Bring it on" and "I'll bring 'em in Dead or Alive"? Increased political pressure to find those missing WMD? Increased political pressure because Bush needed results fast to convince congress to keep spending money in Iraq like it's going out of style? Increased political pressure because the body count in Iraq and Afghanistan are starting to take a heavy toll on Bush's popularity?

Are the Democrats the ones who are playing politics in the Iraqi POW scandal or has it been Bush's secret chain of command who are now and have been playing politics from day 1 in Iraq? Did Bush and his shadowy underlings at the Pentagon and CIA set forth a policy of stepping over the line and demanding quick intel at any price in Iraq? Did that policy of increased pressure that ended up being finally exposed in public by 60 Minutes and resulting in the present scandal, come from the top of the chain down, for purely political reasons?

Who is playing politics here with our soldier's lives 24/7? The GOPers say it's the democrats for wanting to know the facts that led to this disaster that has brought shame to America and more death to Americans and Iraqis! I thought Congress exercised oversight over the DOD, but now I find that to ask any serious questions is called "Playing Politics"! I think it's been Rumbo and Dumbo playing politics right down the bloody line!

3. I saw some really crazy shit about this General on the net. but
it seems to have vanished! It was about all the things this man has been involved in and it reads like a crime novel/horror story! I think th GOPers set us up by having this guy look like some kind of nutcase! From what I was reading the man is like a GESTAPO chief! He and several of the guys that did some killing in South America are all tied into Iraq and Afghanistan now! Torture was their MO from what I read!

I'd been thinking about Boykin ever since the POW story broke and it looks like others have too!

General who made anti-Islam remark tied to POW case

By Andrea Shalal-Esa
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Army general under investigation for anti-Islamic remarks has been linked by U.S. officials to the Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal, which experts warned could touch off new outrage overseas.

A Senate hearing into the abuse of Iraqi prisoners was told on Tuesday that Lt. Gen. William Boykin, an evangelical Christian under review for saying his God was superior to that of the Muslims, briefed a top Pentagon civilian official last summer on recommendations on ways military interrogators could gain more intelligence from Iraqi prisoners.

Critics have suggested those recommendations amounted to a senior-level go-ahead for the sexual and physical abuse of prisoners, possibly to "soften up" detainees before interrogation -- a charge the Pentagon denies.

Congressional aides and Arab-American and Muslim groups said any involvement by Boykin could spark new concern among Arabs and Muslims overseas the U.S. war on terrorism is in fact a war on Islam.

"This will be taken as proof that what happened at Abu Ghraib (prison) is evidence of a broader culture of dehumanizing Arabs and Muslims, based on the American understanding of the innate superiority of Christendom," said Chris Toensing, editor of Middle East Report, a U.S.-based quarterly magazine.

9. Oh yeah, that chowderhead General
I'd almost forgotten about him. The Chimp sure knows how to pick a winner.

Remember last summer when they purged all the Generals from the Pentagon, to leave only True Believers in place. This is but a bit of the result of Chimpy's meddling in affairs military. He should stick to pretzels.

12. Oh, you are good! That's the creep
"When Democratic President Jimmy Carter half-heartedly sent commandos
on a star-crossed mission to rescue U.S. hostages in Tehran, Iran,
Boykin was there. He asked the commanding officer to lead his men in
prayer for God's grace and protection. The next day, he has movingly
told, when aircraft collided and burned, 45 of his men escaped without
serious injury "though equipment and ammunition melted from their
backs."

The movie "Black Hawk Down" depicted the 1993 horror in Somalia after
another Democratic President, Bill Clinton, denied protective
equipment requested by the troops he had sent there. Boykin was the
commander of those downed special forces surrounded by warlord
fighters, killed, stripped and dragged through the streets of
Mogadishu. In his nightmares Boykin almost certainly can still hear
their calls for backup and help over his radio."

They have put their political agenda above the interests of this country and above the lives of our troops. They should be frog-marched out of the White House...
