1. Items like this is what always reminds me how good the Web is
at not letting things disappear in the memory hole. Thanks. Will send e-mail.

2. I think I remember that O'Really owes her a similar apology.
Has he given it to her yet?

3. Here's my email to Newsweek
In its April 21, 2003 edition, in the Conventional Wisdom section, Newsweek gave Janeane Garofalo a big fat red down arrow, with the following explanation:

Predicted 'doom' for U.S. forces, promised apology to Bush if troops greeted as liberators. We're still waiting.
Ooops. I think Newsweek owes Jeneane an apology.

I thought at the time you were premature in saying this. I am glad someone reminded me of this. I have been a loyal newsweek subscriber for many years. I fell that normally you are quite fair, which is why I was disgusted when you printed that. It was really pretty stupid and premature. How about that apology so that I can regain my respect?

5. lol - nice.... here's mine....
"Hello,

In the April 21, 2003 edition, in the Conventional Wisdom section, Newsweek gave Janeane Garofalo a big fat red down arrow, with the following explanation:

"Predicted 'doom' for U.S. forces, promised apology to Bush if troops greeted as liberators. We're still waiting."

I'm sure the editors of Newsweek would like to preserve their reputation for fairness, correctness and honesty by publicly retracting this remark at Newsweek's next available opportunity.

Sincerely,"

4. Maybe they mean they're still waiting
for our troops to be greeted as liberators. Hey, if we kill enough Iraqis, it could happen! No, seriously, say you're one of about 8% of the Iraqi population still alive and word gets to you that what the U.S. forces are really waiting for is to be greeted as liberators. Wouldn't you grab a rose and haul ass? I think I would.
