1. I have been all of my life...
in fact, when I was born, my grandparents bought me some stocks.

I will continue to buy and sell stock in the future.

2. Not any more...
... I have no faith in the current economy, the numbers our government put out, or the sharks who run our corporations and mutual funds.

Screw the whole bunch of 'em :)

4. No, I pulled out when Enron happened
and Ken Lay got away scot free. I am thinking about getting back in when alternative energy starts kicking in. I also want to buy Costco stock, but I need some disposable income first. I haven't had any since Bush came into office.

5. too poor to invest...
too busy paying rent, and donating to liberal causes with my extra money. And buying vodka, vermouth, and olives for martinis!

6. And while it would be nice to one day be an old white guy...
I don't really want to be an old white guy with wealth. Just a house, an old women, and some healthy grown up, intelligently raised children with everything that they 'need'. And some good books and a good music collection. Maybe a piano too.

8. My 401k is all in stock, but I don't invest in individual stocks.
I do wish I had the time and inclination to get into it, though...

9. Yup
socially responsible investments . . . not always the best course for profits but the best course for my conscience!

10. With a bad feeling in my gut ...
I pulled out in August, 2001. The bad feeling was due to the warnings to us airline pilots of an impending attack. That's why I believe in LIHOP. That gut feeling saved me several hundred thousand dollars in losses. Sorry to quantify that here on DU, but the truth is the truth. I have not re-invested that money in anything other than low-yield, safe accounts.
