Poll question: Is the phrase "DINO" overused here on DU?
Edited on Thu May-13-04 09:14 PM by JohnLocke
Some people, it seems, will label anybody with a slightly different view a DINO. I'd like to get your thoughts.

Justify your answer!!

1. I don't think it's used nearly enough
but there are a bunch of DINOS who get pissed off when DUers call DINOs DINOs.

2. Actually, we have too many DINOs. And it is a milder term than
those some of us would like to use. I still like the tutu-democrats a lot, but in some cases is not just being tutus but worse.

10. I wonder how many of the no votes are from people overusing it
It is overused here. Many people have no problem slurring people who they disagree with on one decision, issue, or statement as not being worthy of being a dem. Funny how no fringe leftist Naderite types don't get it applied to them at all.

11. Yes
It seems like anytime someone disagrees with a Democratic politician, they're labeled a DINO.

I said No. I've disliked Lieberman even before he became a US Senator.

There are worse things one could justifiably call Lieberman than DINO.

15. It isn't just Lieberman who get's pegged with it
Don't you remember when probably at least half of the Dean people where applying it to everyone of Dean's serious opponents without hesitation? Don't you see people here calling Kerry a DINO.

The only senator I believe deserves the label is Zell Miller.
