6. I agree...
Now granted I am not going to jump to any conclusions, but I do think they look different. Because of pic quality and such, it is difficult to get true indentifying characteristics, but one thing that really sticks out is the eye brows. From the grainy prisoner pic, they look fairly thick. In the other pic, they look much less noticable(could be the glasses). Now, I am not a conspiracy theorist, and I am not demanding that this is all a fraud, but I do agree with your comments that the two images don't look like the same person...Kevin.

8. That's the thing that struck me too
The Michael Berg is the first picture looks like he would be a red-head if his hair grew in - or at least a sandy brown. And the eyebrows look light-colored. The person in the 2nd photo looks to have thick eye-brows and dark hair. It is a grainy photo, but these two pictures do not look like the same person to me.

10. The hairline on the forehead looks different, too
It also looks to me like the guy in the orange jumpsuit may be of Middle Eastern origin.

Totally agree with you. His eyebrows are thick and black in the pic from the video. Maybe he was altering his appearance for some reason?

11. oh good grief. He doesn't have any HAIR in the one picture
and in the other he not only has hair but a beard.

This is as silly as those "missiles on the 9/11 planes" threads.

The whole story stinks to high heaven but there's no doubt it's the same guy.

Once I have a few more sources and my thoughts more organized on this topic, I am writing to my senator, (Dick Durban - IL) and asking that congressional hearings be held regarding Nick Berg's death. There is something sinister here - we cannot trust the thieves to investigate this.

13. It's hard for me to see the resemblance too, but
for this to go anywhere, the Berg family would have to be able to confirm the identity of the body being returned.

Either Nick is gone or he is not. I'm sure this would be incredibly important to his family, but they will have the chance to resolve it. For the rest of us, I think the more compelling question is, who were those masked men?

20. Some people seem to get their knickers in a knot
when others ask questions or point out inconsistencies.

Is there is a recent picture of Mr. Berg with a full head of hair? And without glasses? Did he have black or dark brown, tightly curled hair like the man in the orange jumpsuit seems to have? And when was the picture taken of him with a shaved head? How long does it take to grow a full head of hair from a shaved head?

Personally, I am unconvinced that the men in the two photographs are one in the same. They do not look like spitting images of each other.

and those pictures are of the same guy. Different times, same guy.

But if you want to insist that it's somebody else, I can't stop you. You just make the rest of us look like retards.

The Berg thing stinks to high heaven. Making wild crazy claims about it that have absolutely no evidence does NOT help.

Again, why do I even bother? People believe what they want to believe in spite of VISIBLE EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY

25. His hairline didn't change.
But it's tough to tell.

Look at the video pic and note the distance between his eyebrow and the hairline at the temple. We're looking at his left profile.

Now look back at the Hershey PA pic and you'll notice that the hairline is still there at the temple (on his right side). It's subtle because his hair is so short that it doesn't reflect as much light, but it is the same shape and appears to be the same distance from his brow.

But not definitive either way, given the quality of image # 2. If someone asked me out of the blue (with none of the backstory) if they looked like the same guy, I would be far from certain, though.

I was posting the bald shot because here is a happy kid, excited about his business. In the next shot, here is same kid, perhaps uknowingly minutes from his death.

I do think they look a lot different. Is it the same kid? I don't know,m and I can't tell from the images. I have not heard Mr. Berg claim it isn't his kid in the video, but who knows. Interesting.

It amazes me that people can't use their own eyes and see stuff that simply isn't there.

The hairline is the same. The glasses and the fact that he's bald in the one pictures give the ILLUSION that his hairline is different.

Also, video compresses people things on the vertical axis, especially bad video. Remember how it "adds 15 pounds"? Well it does.

I don't know why I bother except it bothers me to see people who are on my side make fools of themselves.

26. Damage Control - Government Disputes E-Mail
The State Department says an e-mail from a consular officer in Iraq that said Berg had been in U.S. custody was based on erroneous information.

Spokeswoman Kelly Shannon said the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq had sent the incorrect information to the diplomat.

The diplomat sent Berg's family an e-mail saying he had been in U.S. custody. But officials now insist he had been held by Iraqi police.

Berg wrote his parents after his release that federal agents had questioned him about whether he had ever built a pipe bomb or had been in Iran.
