I guess the Coast Guard didn't get Bush's memo

I just heard a radio ad attempting to recruit enlistees to the Coast Guard, in which the voice over stated, "We are America's first line of defense."

But Bush said that Oceans don't protect us any more. Why didn't he tell the Coast Guard of this new development?

If we were republican spinmeisters, we could now direct one of our operatives to get the message out that: "BUSH DECLARES COAST GUARD USELESS AND WANTS TO DISBAND," or, "BUSH WEAK ON DEFENSE OF OUR SHORES."

Sounds like something Hannity would do.
