We had some severe weather come through last night so I had the radio on AM to keep track of the storms. Boortz was on and ranting something about Kerry leaving a BBQ joint without paying after making statements about the employee's healthcare. He made a reference to The Godfather talking about this also; I assume The Godfather is Rush Limbaugh.

Does anyone know anything about this?

here is the jist of what rush was saying.

kerry was going to be in florida and had some florida rep. set up a campaign stop at a BBQ joint (some dank hole in the wall). so kerry goes in and orders ribs, goes back and talks to the kitchen help and finds out that they don't have health coverage and then storms out in protest.

that is what Rush said, so you know..... it is probably not the whole truth.

I know my libertarian friend is always sending me his articles.

He's not as bad a Rush (who I can't bear to listen to at all!), but a close second.

He has libertarian views on intrusion into HIS freedoms, but is a true HATE ALL DEMS 'CAUSE THEY'RE EVIL type person.

this year for failing to uphold Libertarian philosophy. He's become a total whore for the Bushies. He used to be rational. But when he sniffed where the money was coming from, the coporate whoremasters, he glibly changed his dance to their tune. He no longer does his homework and makes embarrassingly bad misstatements. However, his audience doesn't realize his ineptitude. He panders to the ill-informed and narrow-minded. He's now a joke. Don't engage with his road rage. He's not worth your time.

just to see what kind of stupidity he's spewing on that particular day. The sad part of this story is that Boortz has quite a following in Ga. and there's noone to counter him. The few times someone calls him with a ligitimate argument, he cuts them off and calls them some stupid name.

Where oh where are the liberal talk shows around here? I have to listen on the net!

but talks like a right-wing Republican in almost every respect. He claims to believe in abortion rights, gay rights, freedom from religion, and an end to the drug war, but he doesn't go out of his way to cover those topics and never stays on them for long. He favors withdrawing all public support for "government schools," wants everything privatized, makes veiled racist comments all the time, idolizes Ronald Reagan, and is a fawning supporter of the Bush administration. He delights in ridiculing anyone with a conscience about their fellow humans. I once heard him call a homeless person who'd frozen to death a "bumsicle." In short, he's just another idiotic lamebrain who's blustered his way into a career by appealing to listeners' basest instincts.

Boortz's style is to basically yell most of the time and try to elevate himself by tearing down others. He is a textbook example of the "angry white male" composing the core of the Republican base.

I listen to Boortz only in bursts while waiting for traffic & weather reports, so I'm giving you only a partial picture. But I've taken enough random samples to declare Boortz's effusions unsafe to breathe.

I guess being a Republican is worse than being a True Libertarian, but my point is that Boortz is a right-wing Republican posing as a Libertarian.

but canny enough to cloak his prejudices in code words. Just like his hero, Rush. He uses "urban youth" and "inner city". When I moved to Atlanta, he was a libertarian, railing against anti-abortion male callers. Then, the corporate wingers showed him the money and he asked "how high do you want me to jump?" He's been their pitbull ever since. No integrity. And increasingly sloppy. He's coasting at this point. Not someone to listen to if your IQ is above Atlanta's summer temperatures. He thinks in the rightwing of Bill Kristol and Tucker Carlson. But he's lowbrow, ranting for the lazy.

He said that gays marrying shouldn't and won't affect your marriage at all, whether you're gay or straight.

This lends credence to my theory that everyone has at least one viewpoint you agree with (other than the obvious ones such as "it's bad to eat uncooked meat"). If I could stand to listen to Hannity, I'd like to know what one view we agree on (if my theory is correct). Since I'm pro-gun, I assume that would be the one view, because of the small amount I've listened to that doughboy asshole there sure haven't been any others.
