Thumbs up signs. I wonder if pictures like these were used to gather intelligence too?

1. dunno but glad somebody brought up this pic
it could probably use another look in light of the worse more recent pics. more specifically, this pic, and the other one, he saved my dad...etc. as i recall, it was kind of settled that the knocked up one was first, and the saved one was a slow reacting coverup, kind of interesting in light of recent stuff. remember how many people said no way could that first pic be real? no soldier would say something like that! or so they thought.

3. that's what they said about the torture photos
in fact FOX has had lots of clips about photo altering and how easy it is. Looks like it's desperate spin now doesn't it?

8. this version is the first that appeared on the internet
within 24 hours there was another pictures, with a different quotation on the sign. Now, there are more than a dozen version - but this was the first that showed up.

I have no idea if this picture is "real" or "fake" but just consider the timing.

7. hmmm, i've seen
I've seen a variation of that and it is photoshopped. On the one I saw it said "Longhorns are gay" or "Longhorns are sissies." It was something like that.

10. the message itself is not the relevant part
The fact this picture came out with an inflammatory message just a few weeks before the torture pictures came out - and the same "Thumbs Up" and smiling for the camera - is the relevant part. We know this message was the first one to show up. Whether it's photoshopped or not is irrelevant at this point.

11. Read what Snopes.com has to say
here:

http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/boudreaux.asp

Boudreaux could not be reached for comment. His commander during the 3/23rd's Iraq mission, Lt. Col. David Couvillon, called the photo a sophomoric attempt at humor.

"Look, he didn't actually do what that sign says," Couvillon said. "This is stupid, lance corporal stuff that he thought was cute. But it's not, and I was informed the commandant of the Marine Corps had it and the Marine Corps will deal with this."

12. Boudreaux says it's a hoax. He was on TV the other night
(Nightline?) and said that he has received death threats over this photoshop hoax.

I'll see if I can find a link.
