2. Not that I hold CNN in high esteem, but if they're right it'll be a relief
Gephardt won't be VP. He'll be great in nearly any other position in the cabinet.

33. It was a voluntary poll (ie not valid)
I hope they are right, though.

as the VEEP. Either one will crush Dicky in a debate.

32. Been there
We still have an "Edwards for President" sign in our living room -behind the bookcase.

We saw him speak near here-populist yes but he said the right things and the things that most people can't argue with.

They can paint him as a "trial lawyer" but they certainly don't want people to find out his 5 big cases. That is class warfare and corporate abuse rolled up in one big well groomed package.

13. Yes, it's a poll.
The people are voicing their preferences, and hopefully Kerry will be listening. I believe he's smart enough to do that.

16. here's why it should be Edwards
Diversify.

Kerry's got the military angle already. Edwards will diversity the ticket. His populism is outstanding. And though he won't bring North Carolina, he will bring border states.

Clark is great, but he just reinforces Kerry's military angle. Plus, if for some reason Iraq goes away, then they're stuck.

Clark will make a great Secty of Defense or Secty of State.

My heart, and VP vote, belong to Wes, but I would also love to see him as Sec. of State. Talk about bringing credibility back to our international status!

25. And ifr Wesley does not get the VP nomination,
and Kerry wins, look for him to be either Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense.

Edwards and Clark both have their positives, but if Kerry wants to get the Southern/working people's vote (I know Clark is from Arkansas), he needs to get Edwards on the ticket, IMHO.

20. How do you think the "war criminal"
accusations will play against him if he does get the nomination? I really want him to get it but my husband doesn't think it would be good because they will be all over him for that. I was for Dean in the primaries. I don't know all the arguments to support Clark?

23. He's a decorated war HERO. Kinda hard to spin the "war criminal"
b.s. on that record! :D If they try it, all Kerry needs to do is ask AWOL to put his medals side by side Kerry's. That'll shut the fucks up.

29. Kerry stated during his protest days that he had committed "atrocities"
during the war. He clarified at the time and later even unto this election that those "atrocities" were sanctioned U.S. military policies. Our military was totally ignoring the Geneva Convention rules of conduct by ordering such actions.

In their desperation I know the Pukes will try to use this, but it's an exercise in futility.

Glad you like Clark!! :hi:

and commander of the theatre?

Read Clarke's book.

34. Clark is a truthteller (not the whole truth, but enough for now)
"Broken Engagement" by Gen. Wesley Clark
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0405.clark.html

"An Army of One?" by Gen. Wesley Clark
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2001/0209.clark.html

He can gain support from the fear-driven centrists/rightists (he's a General!) and the progressives (he knew the attempt to invade and seize Iraq would be a strategic catastrophe). He's also as (or more) progressive on the issues than anyone else being considered. Edwards has strengths as a little-man advocate but the downside of being a lawyer and relatively inexperienced.

39. Who will be President Kerry's Attorney General?
Who will have the opportunity to peer into the classified files of John Asscroft?

Could John Edwards be Attorney General? I'd rather see him as Veep but its just a question.

I think the power of Attorney General should rightfully belong to Bill or Hillary Clinton...haaaaaa..

Neo-pukes would be writhing in the aftermath of such an "in-your-face".
