Larry Flynt Issues Call to 'Pray' for Death of Bill O'Reilly.

Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt has called for a "National Prayer Day" on August 5 to "pray for the death of News Channel host] Bill O'Reilly."

The pornography publisher and California gubernatorial candidate's event is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. PDT in Los Angeles, and
Flynt's political website offers a sample "prayer" describing in explicit and graphic terms how O'Reilly's death might come to
pass.

"Dear (God/Allah/Buddha/other entity of your choice), we ask you to afflict Bill O'Reilly with a brain aneurysm that will lead to
his slow and painful death," the "prayer" reads.

O'Reilly spokesman Robert Zimmerman told CNSNews.com: "We are not going to dignify it with a response." O'Reilly, the
host of The O'Reilly Factor, presides over the highest-rated primetime news program on cable television.

Louis Giovino, spokesman for the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, called the Flynt event "an expression of
evil."

"If this wasn't Larry Flynt, we would think it was just another wacko looking for PR, but since it is Larry Flynt and given his
track record of hate, this is more than a sick joke, this is an expression of evil," Giovino told CNSNews.com.

Sean Carney, spokesman for the Flynt event, believes that O'Reilly uses "racist" rhetoric in order to appeal to the "common
man."

I'd die laughing. You can't get the full effect until you've seen the poster, it's a true work of art.

4. That is sick...
it puts into perspective Pat Robertson's prayer to get rid of justices, though, which is probably the point.

Pat Robertson: Pray for justices to retire
Thursday, July 17, 2003 Posted: 10:16 AM EDT (1416 GMT)

(CNN) -- Televangelist Pat Robertson has asked his audience to pray to God for three justices to leave the U.S. Supreme Court. He would like to see them replaced with more conservative justices.

On the Web site of his Christian Broadcasting Network, he said, "One justice is 83 years old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?"<more>

7. Performance art at its finest
I wonder why the hypocrite from the Catholic league did not speak out against the evil intentions of Pat Robertson when he asked his cult followers to pray for the Supreme Court members to be forced to resign via stroke.

And while I am no fan of O'Reilly I think praying for someone's death is crude and plain wrong.

10. Hilarious!!
Yes, I definetly wouldn't condone this as it is twisted, it's only a joke. Unlike Pat Robertson who called for deaths more eloquently and was dead SERIOUS. yeeesh what a creep.

22. Appalling!!!
Appalling that you compare Larry Flynt to Ann Coulter.

One is the most hate-filled obscene piece of filth to ever walk the planet upright.

The other is Larry Flynt.

Sure, Larry's a disgusting guy, but I gained new respect for him when he took on the Republicans zealousness to impeach Clinton with the "Flynt Report". Who would have thought he'd take down the Speaker of the House? he showed what a bunch of hypocrites the GOP were.

He also goes for the jugular against the Robertsons and Falwells of the world.

Like to see a big nasty pit bull in our backyard. And he's way more credible than Coulter. Flynt uses both fact and humor effectively. Coulter just makes the shit up.

Anyone ever consider him for an AM radio talk show slot? Better get that 7 second delay ready.

23. Carlos, it's satire
Like Swift's solution to over-population (ie. "Eat the children"), considered by many to be a masterpiece of political satire.

Before the American Revolution, Ben Franklin wrote and published similar works of political satire.

21. Flynt shows his stuff once again.
Larry Flynt is a master at skewering the right with their own swords. During impeachment, he turned the tables on them and offered $1,000,000 to anyone who would come forward and say they had an affair with a Republican member of Congress....and we all know what happened then!

I think this piece on O'Peabody is just another example of turning the tables on the wingnuts. Sure it is tasteless to the extreme and I don't condone it. But, frankly, I'm glad Larry is around to stir up shit from time to time.
