Kudos to John Garamendi!
Fair's fair. I railed on this guy a couple of days ago, but cheers to him for doing the right thing (even if he was a little petulant about it).

:toast:

2. yep
he did do the right thing. Maybe if Cruz is elected he will make Garamendi Lt. Gov? though I'm not sure if the Gov selects a replacement or there is a special election.

3. No comparison to ISSA
A real team player, as compared witht he tearful deaprture of Issa from the Repub side. I like what TPM said, though about the tears coming from having to clean up a severed horse's head from his bedding. I would hope the Dems are more civilzed when requesting someone like Garamedi to bail out.

4. Garamendi did the right thing.
But as one political scientist stated the Lt. Governor's job is to now prove he is the John Hancock insurance policy for the party, not the Benedict Arnold of the Governor Davis backers.

5. Yes DTH ...
Garamendi is to be STRONGLY commended for falling on his individual sword, .... for the collective good ....

His stock went WAY up in this household, and he will be remembered fondly for this ....

7. Agreed...
I've been familiar with Garamendi since I moved to SF in '84 and he was a city councilman. He's always been a pretty good guy. He did the right thing and I will support him for any office he wants in the future.
