The sadistic torture of Iraqi prisoners by their American guards, followed by the revenge beheading of an American hostage, has caused the whole world to cry out in anger and revulsion at such gross inhumanity. The debasing images provoke nausea and tears, and a sense of disbelief. How could such crimes have been committed?...........
