Donald Rumsfeld = Heinrich Himmler re-incarnated...
Himmler was a ruthless, sadistic bastard...one time Minister of the Interior and eventually head of the Gestapo.
"Himmler believed that Hitler was the Messiah and was destined to lead Germany to greatness."
A very serious question I would like to pose is..DIDN"T ANYBODY STUDY WORLD WAR II IN SCHOOL??? Why in God's name can people not see that HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF!! The Republican party had in it's ranks many who supported Hitler and the Nazi's including Prescott Bush who should have been tried for aiding and abbetting the enemy as well as TREASON! Many of the rot in the Republican party wanted Franklin D. Roosevelt disposed of by any means possible!! I will never understand how these scum-sucking traitors got away with what they did...for allowing them to do so has festered into the cancer we have on Democracy today!

4. There was a story from before the illegal war
that said his family in Germany (or may have been another Western Europe country), had publicly disowned him.

6. Most people don't know
HOW Hitler rose to power. They only know the end result. The mindset is as if all of a sudden one day here's this Hitler guy exterminating people. In reality the process took many years. It was slow and insidious. Yes, history IS repeating itself but people just don't recognize it. If you make that claim most people think you're being extreme and outrageous. Or it's perceived as minimizing the atrocities of World War II by making the comparison. I fear people will only see it when it's too late. Just like with Hitler.

7. My point exactly...
There is access to all kinds of information...especially here on the web and in libraries! It's just hard to believe that people don't see the likenesses! It's as if America has been put under some kind of sinister spell! Oh well...they didn't hypnotize ALL of us!

8. DIDN'T ANYBODY STUDY WORLD WAR II IN SCHOOL?
Yes, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush, etc. etc. etc. did, can't you tell?

So did I, and I have been telling people since bushhole was annointed that their behavior is uncannily like that of the third reich. Their words, and actions are nearly identical to that of the nazis.

Hitler and bushhole both use(d)these main themes to gain their objectives.

1.War against terrorism.
2.National security.
3.God.
4.Incremental taking of citizens rights and freedoms (patriot act), in order to protect the citizens.

HOWLIN_WOLF don't forget that prescott bush's father-in-law george herbert walker had involvement too.

10. I Figured You Knew This
Thanks for the welcome.
I could tell by your post that you were a student of history.

Here it is in a nutshell.

Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg trials:

"It is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."

11. Another interesting similarity:
Edited on Sun May-16-04 12:29 AM by freedomfrog
Late in the war Himmler was given command of Army Group Vistula on the Eastern Front. The military professionals had proven unable to beat back the Soviet onslaught (for those readers who aren't familiar with the history of WWII, the biggest and most terrible battles were fought between Germany and the Soviet Union, and the Soviets deserve the lion's share of the credit for beating the Germany army into the dirt) and Hitler decided that only a committed party ideologue could get the job done right.

So Himmler proceeded to put his fist in the pie and tell the soldiers how to do their jobs, and made an even bigger mess of the situation than would otherwise have occurred.

Say what you will about Hitler, but at least HE finally managed to work up enough common sense to realize that Himmler was a decided liability and needed to get the hell out.

The following interesting words are from Antony Beevor's The Fall of Berlin 1945:

"Himmler answered with all the thoughtless cliches of his master.... His replies were devoid of any basic military knowledge. (Col. Hans Georg) Eismann then asked what battle-worthy formations they had at their disposal. Himmler had no idea.... Only one thing was clear. The Reichsführer SS did not appreciate direct questions in general staff style.... Even those general staff officers who had experienced earlier disasters still found it hard to fathom the degree of incompetence and irresponsibility of Hitler's Kamarilla'."
