As far as global warming goes...
...I seem to recall that were the entirety of the Antarctic to melt, it would raise sea levels by 240 feet. Anyone want to shoot for accessing a map of North America where everything below that altitude is altered to show how such a coastline might appear?

1. Y'know, that might be an interesting web app, an interactive sea level
Someone's probably already done it, but Imagine: a map of North America and a slider for the percentage of Antarctic ice melted. As you move the slider towards 100%, more and more of the USA goes underwater...

I'm not sure about 240 feet number, but even 24 feet would be devastating to coastal towns and the Pacific islands.

2. how about this?
http://weather.unisys.com/usgs/

seems like everything east of the Appalachians, and a few isolated areas of the west coast, would end up under water, including me :-O

5. That's great!...
...Thanks!

The shoreline wouldn't reach the Appalachians by a long shot. Raleigh NC maybe...

But no New Orleans, for sure.

4. Yeah, it's been done, sorry no link.
Basically, all of Florida, most of the south, and good portions of the midwest are all under water. And I believe that's not even the worst case scenario.
