5. Shit, Shrub doesn't have a switch at all
His brain came turned off, with no capacity to ever be turned on, except maybe turned by the idea of nailing a swarthy Ay-rab man tied to a barrel of crude while Shrubbie is doped up on coke and meth and covered in Reagan's feces and attempting to recite dirty limericks and nibbling on the Ay-rab's ear and pretending he (Shrubbie) is Hazel, the maid from the old TV show, tethered with an iron leash and being dominated and humiliated by John Holmes.

6. Rabb, my friend, you are on a ROLL, LOL
ROTFLMAO

If they were to cat scan the shrubs brain.... it would reveal many holes in it from drug abuse, meth does that sort of damage and the symptoms are ed zachery the same as Bushes behavior.

7. Thank you!
I'm always happy to provide some dark poetry.

Shrubbie's behavior is also very much like that of an alcoholic. A few friends and I, all children of alcoholics, noticed that soon into his presidency. Whether he's actively drinking now or not, he definitely displays the manipulative and abusive personality traits that are generally found only in alcoholics.

8. I suspect, in addition to your premise, there are other factors including:
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Prefrontal Lobe trauma due to unknown cause, most likely repeated blows to the head while an infant, one or more falls, drug abuse. This is the part of the brain that holds back our instinctive emotions from going over the top. It controls the cortex, the primitive part of the brain. Bush displays behavior indicating his logic/reason(from the prefrontal section), etc is stifled and hence his GUT FEELINGs dominates his decisions.

Scarey I know.. this is why he is so dangerous.

10. Bush has a Daddy problem
His whole life has been spent failing at things his Daddy did well.

Daddy went to Andover & Yale & became an academic & sports star. Shrub was a cheerleader.

Daddy was the youngest Navy pilot ever commissioned, & was shot down in the Pacific. Shrub was AWOL.

Daddy left comfy Connecticut for the Texas oil fields & made a fortune. Shrub drilled dry & got bailed out by family friends.

Daddy was a member of Congress, U.N.Ambassador, Ambassador to China, Head of Republican Party, Head of CIA, & Veep for 8 yrs. Shrub was drunk till he was 40.

Daddy did not march to Baghdad, & was smart enough to throw the neocons out of his office. Well, we know what Shrub did.

Shrub has a Daddy problem.

14. And I think Shrub has been intentionally "grown" to be a half-ass failure
Edited on Sun May-16-04 02:16 AM by Rabrrrrrr
so that his daddy and his buddies would have a foil, or dupe, to puppet around and take the heat for the evil shit they've wanted to do.

Typical republican "care for family and friends" - when they mess-up, just 'em off and pretend you never knew them and let them go down in flames with nary a word said to save them or defend them.

on edit: fixed a typo. Spelled "Shrub" wrong.

15. That explains his lack of need to read reports, have data in front of him,
and etc., and prefers to just announce his actions based on little soundbites.

Also explains his need to be a pathalogical liar, and his inability to understand that he might be capable of being wrong while at the same time finding it ridiculously easy to make clear, definitive, and absolute distinctions between right and wrong in others.

If he hadn't grown up in such a rich and powerful family able to protect him, he would have ended up in jail or an asylum as a psychotic.

9. Exactly. Hawaii usually does have the highest gas prices.
I think it's very interesting that they appear to have found a ceiling. Any higher than $2.12 might affect the tourist trade? So I'm wondering, who's making up the difference? Someone is willing to get less of a cut in profits, but who?

13. Could be surplus, yes
Since it all has to shipped in, could very well be that you get huge shipments at a time, with a week or two in between them; and also, the ships likely take or two to get there, so they'd be carrying, by the time they hit hawaii, gas at wekk- or two-week-old prices.

16. Gas at my 2 corner stations is $2.29 and $2.41 for regular tonight
Soon the two stations will align with each other at the higher rate. I live next door to Santa Barbara where we get quite regularly screwed on gasoline, though there's oil rigs off shore and a refinery in Gaviota. Over in Montecito (wealthy enclave on the other side of SB) premium gas just hit $3.13 for those wanting to have it pumped for them.

This is the first time I've ever heard of Hawaii's gas being lower than ours. I always assume the folks I left behind just get shafted worse than we do on the Central Coast -- it's hard to guess what the meta-message in this is, but enjoy it while it lasts, Opihi.

It's gotten to the point where I find myself thinking maybe it's a good thing that OPEC hasn't lowered the price of oil just yet because it makes Bush look bad on the economy to the average Joe filling up his SUV. I hope that one Democrat talking-point gets to be about the influence Prince Bandar has on Bush and on our economy.

17. I heard on the radio that it'll be $3.00 by the end of summer
And the automakers are going to offer huge incentives to lull people into a stupor to buy SUV's in the coming weeks. They can't seem to move them now.

Wonder if the resale bubble has burst on this one?

23. Well BY GOD then it will be $3.00 by the end of summer!!!!!
Just like how they've "primed the pump" for nationwide $2.00 per gallon gas. Its sitting at $1.99.9 here. Its gone up 3 times in about 12-14 days. I'll guarantee it will go up again right before Memorial day.

The more the media works as whores for the oil companies the more we'll all pay.

18. It depends which island though
Oahu prices are near that range and the Big Island is only about 10 cents worse but the overall average for all the islands combined is $2.35 according to http://www.hawaiigasprices.com / I know Kauai is really bad right now.

Whatever happened to that leak that the Saudis have promised Bush they are going to lower prices before the election to help him? Do you all think that will still happen and will the American people remember the leak?

21. I think the Saudis are having second thoughts about the Bushies.
They are reaping some of them bombings themselves and soon the masses there will rebel against counterproductive decisions...which is What are the House of Saudis doing for Peace...?

Hence, can they, will they, back up the chimpster?

28. Aloha kiliki!
Welcome to DU from a former kama'aina now in exile on the mainland! :hi:

I think Kerry, instead of largely grandstanding or being very vocal onm the gas price subject, should just be subtle and occasionally, mention, "Wow - the price of gas is really up, isn't it?" and make no comment beyond that.

22. Damn, there goes the coffee all over the keyboard again due
to Hubert's way with words. LOL.

Yup, the unintended consequence of the War decision is coming back in the form of $3.00 a gal gas. Bush and Crew in the Basement throw darts again trying to figure out what the Hell to do.

Kerry not saying much, don have to, Bush doing a wonderful job digging deeper.

Rummy is deep doo this time as the New Yorker blows the torture scam wide open.

Condi now speaks Russian with hairs in her teeth. OMG, what with those knee pads, they are pink?
