Monday morning, 8 AM EST, a new dawn for Americans

Massachusetts will begin issuing marriage licences to all couples in a non-discriminatory way! I still cannot quite believe it. And despite the struggles of the right wing hatemongers, it's happening anyway!

Sure, it's imperfect, Shit Romney is doing his best to ban out of state couples (but that law is TOAST in the court), and the Republicans are using their usual scare tactics.

But a majority of Americans around the country now support legal recognition of gay and lesbian couples and that number will only increase with time, as thousands of couples get married in towns from Pittsfield to Provincetown, and other states begin the same process, and people see the sky isn't falling -- but the divorce rate is!

I am so excited. Anybody here planning to get married next week -- gay or straight? :)

It will be a supermajority by the time Shit Romney's amendment to repeal marriages is on the vote.

Besides, all evidence so far is that even amongst fundies, only the raving hatemongers care about this issue. I read a great article about how the Bushies are panicking since their fundy base isn't as motivated by this as they thought. . . since fundies also need jobs, food and clothes for the kids, mortgage payments, etc.
