Powell -- didn't have the time to read the Hersh article yet
Edited on Sun May-16-04 09:08 AM by khephra
If you're going to appear on talk shows on Sunday and you're in the Bush administration, don't you think you should take the time out to read such an important article before the news shows?

It's the freeping governmental equivalent of showing up for class and saying you didn't read the material handed out during the last class! Next time he's going to come out and say that he had a report on the topic, but his dog ate it.

(From Fox News Sunday live on tv....)

2. It's trickle-down stupidty: Georgie doesn't read, so his underlings...
...follow his lead.

That, or he SAYS he hasn't read it, so he can hem and haw when asked about specific portions in it. "Well, I really can't address that without" and "Once I read the article I can comment on that" and etc. etc.

4. It's your second choice, for sure
But the fact that he can even use such a stupid answer shows how far our media has fallen.

9. It takes about 10 minutes to read the article
I'll bet Powell already knew most of what was in the Hersh New Yorker article. Remember, it was Powell who set up the puppet government in Afghanistan.

Invasion -- Occupation -- Subjugation

11. Message from Pravda: These guys should know
USA: climate of this complete disinformation and news
turmoil
05/14/2004 13:17

The US/UK government and their subordinate media
machines have flooded the world with so much
malarkey, doubletalk, and misrepresentation regarding the
wars on terror that it"s become impossible to navigate
through the mayhem of it, let alone believe any of it, including
the recent video of N. Berg"s execution.

And this before the latest New Yorker article.

14. Yeah really....Bush would have fit in..

...to the Soviet model.

Rummy could have run the Gulags for them. Probably he would have been more efficient.

13. Maybe he read the summary?

LOL...

Reminds me of Rumsfeld's response during his testimony before the Senate last week. Couldn't be bothered to look at the original report, but (oh my!) he read the summary! And the summary was (oh my!) 50 -60 pages!!!

That's a lot of reading for the Secretary of Defense.

Evil retarded man.

17. It Was a Slap at Rummy
If he had read the article then he would have had to say something nice about Rummy. By ignoring it, he could just let the sharks feed on Ruumy's ass while keeping his mouth shut. He and Rummy hate each other and Powell is not going to help him in any way.

Totally self-incriminating statement - of course he has read the article. If he hasn't, then WHY NOT?
