New Bush campaign theme: "They want us to CUT & RUN!" How do we counter?
We need a powerful, persuasive soundbite response to this piece of demagoguery.

Any suggestions?

6. Don't worry by July
W will do the world's biggest flip, flop and he will bring the troops home. The war is over, Mission Accomplished.

Who cares if all the Iraqis kill each other afterwards?

:sarcasm off:

8. Democrats want an answer to why we should stay the course?
And what is George W's specific plan to determine when this occupation will be over? This isn't a baseball game and it's not a joke for Bush to keep making light of to get more campaign funds. It's time this administration take accountability and start answering the questions with straight talk. If George W. wants to stay in Iraq, then explain to America what is the purpose since WMD's are not a threat, Saddam is out of power, and Iraqi is liberated? Has the mission been accomplished or not?

10. We do NOT want to 'cut and run' ...
We want to DO IT RIGHT .... from a MULTILATERAL, international consensus perspective ...

Dont fall for their lies: THEY, the GOP and their whacked out John Birch war policies, are the problem ...

Kerry and the Democrats WILL solve the Iraq issue, if given the chance ...

The Bush Neocon WH will NEVER solve it, because to do so would require they discard nearly EVEREY aspect of their bankrupt philosophy ...

14. Your sig line reminds me that you have solved another problem, namely...
how to respond to the argument (which will become VERY strong, imo) about changing horses in the middle of a stream.

'We shouldn't change horses in the middle of a stream'
is like saying
'We shouldn't change horsemen in the middle of an apocalypse.'

We've got to try to get this line to the Kerry people.

But we need an equally concise one for the "Cut and Run" crap.

24. I think you nailed it
Our theme should be that they want to do things without thought or input from people outside the administration. This is how they do everything! Ask them just how much progress we've made in the terror war by going the current route. Mention how Halliburton gets protected Humvies while our soldiers don't.

11. I imagine a commercial...
With a family having a picnic. Change in camera angle shows the picnic is in railroad tracks. Next we hear the sound of an oncoming train. Family's dad (who looks an awful lot like Bush) says, "We can't just cut and run - we have to stand our ground"

Punchline : "Sometimes staying put is just plain stupid. Vote Kerry - it could save your family's life"

15. Family Dad at the table - "If you leave this table, young lady, - - -
you don't get dessert."

Your version could very well be the counter to the famous "Daisy" commercial.

12. For a man that claimed he was going to be the CEO Presidency...
...he sure doesn't know anything about business. Much like drilling dry wells in Texas, when an investment proves itself to be a deep deep hole, you PULL THE F'K OUT before it sucks your whole company down.

13. The accuse us of wanting to "Cut and Run" BUT
Edited on Sun May-16-04 11:14 AM by Warren Stuart
When we had the opportunity to deal with the ones who attacked our country on 9/11 we "Cut and Run" out of Afghanistan, to engage in a war against a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.

Despicable!

17. we should be employing IRaqis to rebuild their country
These people can rule themselves.....those 500 who organized themselves and said they were ready to take over...can and will.

We do not need to manipulate who their governing party is.

We need to help them get to work on helping themselves. Building. Creating their own country, their own infrastructure.

Our money would go much further paying the little people to help themselves than paying high priced mercenaries or haliburton or anyone else....

The only companies that should be allowed in should be there for humanitarian reasons. Helping by teaching and working along side the iraqis to build.

These people need to have something to do and money to take care of themselves..... right now halliburton and the mercenaries are eating up our tax dollars.

Most of the people fighting our military are protecting their country. If we stop occupying the country they will have no reason to be killing our soliders or any of the people who want to make their own country better.

18. WTF?
They're the ones making cut and run statements.

1) we won't stick around if we're not wanted
2) Iraq can have a Muslim government if the people want it

They're the ones getting ready to declare victory and abandon ship.

I prefer to call it "Get our soldiers THE FUCK out of there." We can throw flowers at them and kiss their hands when they come home in one piece.
