Poll question: A quick McCain poll (even for those sick of McCain threads...)
How many of you are utterly sick of all these damn McCain for VP threads?

My take: I'm OK with the discussion for strategic purposes, i.e. show this misadministration for the right wing hacks they are, but on no account should Kerry pick McCain for VP. I don't think that the issue warrants any discussion here, I think that on this forum, there is no strategic value to the discussion, and I believe it is hurting Kerry more than it helps him.

I am tempted to think of those who promote it as furthering the right/left wing talking point of there being no difference between the democrats and republicans.

I will not begrudge any allies in this fight, but if McCain truly wants to renounce the neo-cons who have taken over his party, he should be willing to do it with out the carrot of the VP nod.

1. A former repug friend
A former repug friend calls herself a "new Democrat." To which, I say, "Bushit. Fix your own party. You can't have mine."

Of course, what I actually did was change the subject. :)

2. I've got more McCain threads blocked than Berg threads.
No reflection on McCain himself. He's one of the least odious elected Republicans right not. That said, he's NOT going to be on the ticket. Get it? No way. No how. Saying otherwise is no better than trolling for an argument.

Jeez.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sen. Joseph Biden, a senior Democrat, on Sunday urged Republican Sen. John McCain to run for vice president with the Democratic hopeful, Sen. John Kerry, in order to heal the "vicious rift" dividing America.

McCain, of Arizona, "categorically" ruled out standing with Kerry, but Biden, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said he had no second choice.

"I'm sticking with McCain," Biden said.

"I think John McCain would be a great candidate for vice president," Biden, from Delaware, said on NBC's "Meet the Press," where the two senators appeared together to take questions on Iraq and other subjects.

Yes, let's do ignore the current events of our country.

Is Biden "furthering the right/left wing talking point of there being no difference between the democrats and republicans."

If so, why?
