Who's better McCain or Al Gore?
Who would do a better job on Kerry's cabinet?

Why are we even talking about a Republican?

Jim Jeffords?

Besides, McCain is  from that 5 years in athe POW camp.

1. Gore
I never understood Dem love for McCain. Sure i think out of all the repugs McCain is a decent person, but he's still a repug.

4. He's rather decent and rather honest
Straight Talk Express and all..... Should he be given a seat on Kerry's cabinet? Sure why not-; but not because we're trying to be bipartisan, but so Napolitano can appoint a dem in his place :-)

Ok, seriously, he's among the more decent Republicans, but that doesn't mean he's that decent...

6. She can't appoint a replacement
Generally, that would be the case, but Arizona is the only state where all vacancies are required to be filled through special elections- no temporary appointments are allowed.

14. McCain is hard right on most issues
He breaks with his party on things like CFR just often enough that they consider him a maverick. Don't kid yourself, though. He's as GOP as they come.

Gore may have been a GOP-lite DLC candidate, but he was not nearly as hard far right as McCain is.

I have no idea who is floating this "McCain for VP" stuff, but you can bet he is not our friend.

3. I think it would take a serious crack addiction
to pretend Gore and Kerry will get any closer than necessary EVER.

5. I don't think McCain is crazy
I think Al Gore should fade away, we have far better people than him.

McCain will probably stay a Senator anyway.

13. Al Gore is second in vote count only to Reagan and he is
the choice of most Democrats. Unfortunately, not only weren't our votes counted, our own party could care less who we want. The elite only want the millionaires (Bush and Kerry). I'll vote for Kerry to get Bush out of the White House, but I would never pick him out of a crowd to run for President nor would many of the people I know.

8. Define "better". If you mean voting records and political positions--Gore
If you mean political honesty-- McCain. But political honesty, no matter how refreshing, I think matters less than results. So overall--Gore.

9. McCain is an "out of the loop with the PNAC" Republican.
That doesn't mean he should have a part in a Democratic administration. There are many Repukes out there who haven't made the pact with Satan that the present administration has. That doesn't mean that they will work for accessible health care, education and other things we the people need in the same way the Democrats do. I am against it.

10. McCain endorsed Bush, is Campaigning for him...
And is Co-Chairing his Arizona Campaign.

You do not end up on a Cabinet after these actions.

Or as VP.

11. Al Gore...
McCain is a republican, a war backer, and a Bush supporter.

12. Gore should fade away. As to McCain, it depends on who else
Kerry is looking at. I'm sure all on DU are going to flame me, but I voted for McCain in 200 primaries and would have voted for him in the Gen if he had survived. I've hated Bush since his father was President.

I guess I'm not as true a Dem as the rest of you. During an election, if I don't know the candidates, I always vote Dem. And before you all tell me I need to pay more attention, you tell me you recognize every Judge, Councilman, and yes, even dodg catcher, on the ballot. At least I admit, I don't.

But I do pay a lot of attention to positions like Governor, Rep., Sen., and Pres. I try to listen to each candidate, read all the PR, and decide, not necessarily if I like what they are saying, but who I believe, and who I think would do the job I want.

That was McCain in 2000.

I also have to tell you, I was new to Ga. in 2000. Just moved here Aug. 1st. I didn't know Zell, but I voted for him because he was the Dem. Just what the hell do you think that tells you about party loyalty?????

16. Does that mean if I don't agree with you I don't have a voice on DU?
So I don't hink Gore was the most electable candidate! I voted for Gore in the General because I hated Bush from day one! I stll think McCain would hae made a good Pres. Certainly a whole lot better than the on we've got!

If Gore would have been the person he appeared to be a few months ago when he made the speech against BushCo, there wouldn't have been a Fla. problem. He didn't. He's a good guy with a lot of good ideas, but he's just not able to communicate very well with a lot of people.

Is there another Bill Clinton somewhere?????
