Just a note, but God's existence is now 'unquestionable"
Edited on Sun May-16-04 08:53 PM by khephra
Description from my local tv guide for a religious show:

SHOW TITLE: Startling Proofs
CATEGORY: Special
SYNOPSIS: Leading scientists and Bible experts discuss the unquestionable signs of God's existence.

Well, I don't know about you all, but I'm so glad we don't have to wonder anymore, aren't you? It's now UNQUESTIONABLE.

I wonder if he's a tiny god? (Kids in the Hall ref.)

1. Oi
You don't have a scanner, do you? I'd love to have that as a jpeg.

And who are these "leading scientists," anyways?

WCLJ. I'm tempted to record it so I can find out who these "leading scientists" are too.

3. Thanks for posting this
I am just thankful that I don't need to ask questions anymore. What a relief.

Wait a minute, did they explain what God? Are we suppose to follow the King James Bible or another version? Oh No! I still have questions. DARN!

5. I already knew that
god doesn't exist. There is no question.

Want to prove the existence of God?

Ask me a question you think I might not be able to answer.

8. Do you believe in luck?
Luck. as in the strange force that runs in streaks, causing freaky good things to happen for a while or freaky bad things.

Luck. As in uncanny violations of the laws of probability. Almost like luck has a sense of humor.

So tell me. Do you believe in luck?

13. I don't
I don't believe in luck as a force. Nor do I believe in karma, fate, or anything else supernatural.

things you know about but can't see or explain.

7. a sign is not proof
A sign could be unquestionable in the fact that it points to God's existence, but that doesn't mean it proves it. For example, one could say that beauty or unconditional love unquestionably point to God's existence.

However, I'm really just being a devil's advocate because the language is pretty weak. It would be best not to use it.

11. The Bable Fish:
Edited on Sun May-16-04 09:14 PM by No2W2004
Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God. The argument goes something like this:

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."

"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed at the next zebra crossing.

A white, male, protestant American who hates the rest of the world. . .
