1. It depends
We're living in bizzaro world these days, so who knows? She might just end up with a promotion. In the normal world that I vaguely remember, she'd have been fired on the spot.

2. She's a good soldier for the RNC
...and was one of the people who organized the Thug-A-Thon to stop the recount in Miami in 2000. Her job is secure.

I doubt Powell will tolerate her presence, though.

by Powell and promoted to a position in the Pentagon. Emily's job will be to "pull the plug" on all future media appearances by Rummy.
There she will be able to spill everything she knows from Powell. The RUMbunnies hate Powell anyway.
It is so sad because Powell has been a loyal lap dog for Bush and the gang for so long. Well Colin, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

to another position..........

she's blown her cover with Powell and now she can't stay with him anymore. Remember, I think she was "assigned" to Powell and her primary mission is to be his "minder". Powell may not have realized the extent of her mission until today's performance.
