John Kerry's "To Do" List
1. Start dismantling the rightwing stranglehold on the press/tv/radio..

2. Fire up some presidential commissions to bring these thieves and scoundrels to court..

3. NO PARDONS !!!!!

4. Fill every judical post that's open.. Look into impeachment for judges that are corrupt or negligent..

5. Start regular open forums about crucial issues. Televise them, and invite ordinary citizens..

6. Start a national dialogue to explain "what happened" during the years 2001-2005..

7. Hold regular press conferences..

8. OPEN POPPY BUSH's & REAGAN'S papers...

9. Push for strengthening of conflict of interest laws..

10.Be bold..forthright..and give NO quarter.. Stand up to the bullies.. Call them out for the slimy bastards that they are..

Time and time again, they are discredited..then pardoned and they go away for a while and lick their wounds...only to return ..meaner and mor cunning and vile than the last time they surfaced..

This time, they MUST be totally outed and discredited.. It must be documented and drilled home at every opportunity.. If our side just says .."bygones be bygones" and "kiss and play nice", we can be assured that they will just all retreat to the dragon's lair in Texas, and plot their return..

This may be our last chance to get things "fixed".. Kerry must start on DAY ONE...and keep at it..

The theme song should be "We're not gonna take it anymore"..or "No more Mr. Nice Guy"..

2. Point by point comments
1. Start dismantling the rightwing stranglehold on the press/tv/radio..

Agree, but the media will piss and moan about it a lot, and that will be reflected in how they cover his presidency.

2. Fire up some presidential commissions to bring these thieves and scoundrels to court..

Name me one commission that has ever made recommendations that were actually implemented.

3. NO PARDONS !!!!!

No, he should not do that. Pardons are an important part of presidential powers. They aren't meant to be popular. If you are worried about him pardoning Bush associates, I think that concern is overblown.

4. Fill every judical post that's open.. Look into impeachment for judges that are corrupt or negligent..

Agree on the first. Presidents should stay out of judicial impeachment matters. Jefferson got burned doing that in the 1800's.

5. Start regular open forums about crucial issues. Televise them, and invite ordinary citizens..

These usually don't work out. Look at Clinton's initiative on race, which was widely ridiculed. Jesse Jackson Jr. called ir "race entertainment". There were several embarassing blowups at town hall meetings too.

6. Start a national dialogue to explain "what happened" during the years 2001-2005..

No objections.

7. Hold regular press conferences..

That's fine, but don't expect the media to reciprocate with friendlier coverage. They won't.

8. OPEN POPPY BUSH's & REAGAN'S papers...

100% agree.

9. Push for strengthening of conflict of interest laws..

Yes. I would say no campaign contributions from defense contractors when the nation is engaged in a war.

10.Be bold..forthright..and give NO quarter.. Stand up to the bullies.. Call them out for the slimy bastards that they are..

I think Kerry needs to take on Fox News and the conservative talk show hosts: Fairness Doctrine reinstated by executive order and a full White House boycott of the Fox News Channel. No press passes for them.

3. Add: Prosecute the lot of them.
Bring down the BFEE.

Those who think it can't be done don't know John Kerry.

Plus, SoCalDem will keep his feet to the fire.

6. I want a complete examination of how the EPA was castrated.
We have environmental regulations because when we don't Republicans start turning blue and marrying their sisters. I think that falls under your point #6, but it deserves its own number.

Oh, and if we can crap out $50 billion for this bullshit war year after year, we'd better by-god be able to come up with the $100 billion needed to restore the Indian trust fund, which we stole and which is unprotected by statutes of limitation. We ripped those poor sons-a-bitches off so badly that I felt shame even before this clown got into office. If our guy Kerry has some real stones, he'll hit that one straight on and ask for Judge Lamberth to come up with a factual--not reasonable--settlement figure and ask Congress to appropriate it.

They won't do it, but American Indians would likely appreciate the gesture.
