We pay Chalabi $400K per month
Per Biden on MTP yesterday, Ahmad Chalabi, the corrupt expat who probably more than any other Iraqi opponent of Sadaam helped sell this bogus bill of goods called the Iraq Democracy Project, is being paid $400,000 per month by the U.S. government.

Walking around money, I guess.

If these payments began with the war, you and I have helped plow well over $5 million into this guy's pockets over the past 14 months.

Forget that Chalabi is widely despised and mistrusted in the country he hadn't visited since 1958.

Forget that the government of Jordan considers him a fugitive from justice because of an embezzlement scam he ran on them.

Forget that everything Chalabi said about post-invasion Iraq has been proven false.

Forget that Chalabi's insistence on total de-Baathification was publicly reversed last month, effectively neutering him politically.

Cheney and Wolfie are still standing by the guy. So the money, our money, keeps rolling in.

2. that's exactly what * makes per year and
what Clinton made in 2 years.

This war is costing $100,000 per minute, with no end in sight.

Someone suggested that it'll hit $300 billion by early next year.

For that we could have paid every Iraqi $10,000 and still had 40 billion to bribe Saddam into stepping down from power.

And no one would have died.

Why there is absolutely no accounting of all these billions will in the end turn this country into a Banana Republic.

It's so unbelievably stupid.

Arghhhh.

8. I heard the 400k per month Sunday and that's the first time a number
was given to my knowledge. Now... are armed with information...we can call our reps and complain..demand that his funding is stopped.

Let him survive on his own in his "home land" and in his palace.
