What was the question Tim Russert was asking when Powel's aide interfered?
The NYTimes article didn't mention what the offending question was that prompted "Emily" the officious aide to push the camera off Powell and attempt to stop the interview on "Meet the Press" this Sunday. Any DUers see that? I had to work.

2. In the answer to the question,
Powell said, for the first time to my knowledge, that some of the evidence they presented was, quote, "deliberately misleading".

3. Oy - ouch
Guess that would send a zealous yet modestly attired Bushista over the edge of acceptable public/press interview behavior. Thanks

9. She went over the edge...
...or, rather, the cameraman did, at Tim's mention of "February 2003". And she probably knew that Powel's trigger was cocked about this issue.

4. Here's a link
It was truly a hoot! Here's a link if you want to access it
http://algraffix.nstemp.com/powellMTP.wmv

Emily pushed the camera out of the way when she heard the date Russert cited when he began to ask the question.

IronicTimes.com quipped today that 153,000 of the new jobs created last month are in Damage Control. (ha ha)

7. I'LL BET ROVE'S HEAD IS SPINNING NOW!
Powell knows this administration is gonna be outa there. Sometimes I feel bad for him. But he shouldn't have joined up with those morons in the first place. And he certainly should have spoken up about his reservations about the Iraq nightmare TO THE PUBLIC BEFORE we went to war. But Powell has Bush and friends by the cajones because if they give Powell the boot, the only guy that this country more or less "trusts/likes" will be gone. You don't get the warm and fuzzies for Cheny, Rumsfeld, Hughes, etc.

:wow:

8. Ghod but Tim is such a smarmy opportunistic
bastard isn't he?
WHERE was all this bleeding heart concern for the veracity of Secretary Powell's U.N. speech a year ago??
Cause all I remember is fat Tim on the Don Imus show defecating himself in sheer unadulterated terror at the mere thought of Saddam "acquiring weapons o' mass destruction".

10. Always irksome that Bush chose a "warrior" to be lead diplomat
and it's always interesting watching Powell try so hard to employ political doublespeak. During the Senate hearings prior to invasion of Iraq, he said (slightly paraphrased due to faulty memory): It's not like it's a matter of who gets there first and gets all the oil and money. He isn't used to having to dissemble in front of the entire world.
